NHL 2025 DRAFT - Bruins pick 7th

Captain Obvious said that the Panthers' dominant win over the Whalers shows that power forwards remain a crucial asset in hockey. A Porter Matone would be a nice addition.

Martone wont fall to 7

One John Beecher is more than enough. Pass.

Considering McQueen's skating is a major factor on his negatives and he's 6' 5", he's not going to become another Beecher

Dean's skating is one of his highlights for a big man. His concerns from last season stem from not knowing what decision to make in a harder tighter checking league.

If he puts it together this year that's going to be a home run pick by Sweeney

Who's Dean?

McQueen he could be the next tage thompson or john beecher kinda like the dean leternaeu pick.
If McQueen had Beecher's skaking ability he would be taken 1-3 in this draft.
Pass on him, we already have one project to work with in Dean.
We need to hit on this pick and have the player on the team in no more than two years.

Just from watching video, it feels like Martin, Desnoyers, and Frondell are more physical than Martone.

If the Bruins get Martone I think they will be happy with his performance going forward. He put up 98 points in the OHL. He has played in World tourneys and put up points against skilled competition all the way back to the under 16. He has skill , NHL size and weight and will only get bigger. I have my doubts sweeney will grab a player from the CHL going by past records. Just throwing this out there.
I watched him play in around 15 games this year, he is the real deal.
Great playmaker for a kid of his size and has an above average shot.
Wearing the C means he has good leadership skills.
He showed in his games playing for Team Canada against men that he can hold his own and keep up with the pace.
I would take him in a heartbeat.
I can see him being taken by the Hawks or Utah.

Sweeney’s neglect of CHL players borders on negligence. Many of the top players in the NHL today are CHL “graduates.” Yes, they’re younger and most haven’t grown into their big boy bodies yet, but that fertile talent pool just can’t be ignored. Besides, we don’t need Rhodes Scholars. We need hockey players.

These CHL players are coming into the league quite a size these days. Last season's number one OHL pick Ethan Belchetz was 6'5" 226 pounds coming into the league. Talented kid.

Maybe because Don Sweeney went to Harvard, he favors educated players? There once was a time when college players were shunned by the NHL because they were considered “too smart” and might organize a union or something.

I hold a bachelor of science degree myself, and changed careers to an occupation that doesn’t require a degree, but I don’t look down on my current coworkers because of it. Many of them are better at what we do than I am.

The more I think about it, the more it feels like some kind of subconscious snobbery on the part of Don Sweeney.
