NHL 2025 DRAFT - Bruins pick 7th

Man if we dangle our 1st round pick with leafs 1st round pick and now cats 1st round pick we might be able to get a mason mctavish type of player. So tempting. I want a sure thing then hoping player becomes a stud.
Bruins are kind of in rebuild mode or retool mode ,so they need as many picks as they can. They are going go get a good player in top 7 so just relax and let it all unfold. They need more talent in pipeline Donny and those picks will bring it .Excepting it's going to take a bit of time is hard part.

That was supposed to happen in 2015 too. I rather parlay all these picks and get me a boldy type. Grow around him . Wait a minute the leafs just dropped another egg call them and say you interested in trading Mathews? We have some serious currency here.

5. Jake O’Brien, C, Brantford Bulldogs (OHL)

O’Brien is known for his high-end hockey sense. But what is really appealing about O’Brien is that, on top of his flashy plays, he creates a ton of offense right at the net, especially at even-strength. He’s not physical, but he plays with courage and between that, his 6-2 frame and decent enough quickness, he could absolutely make an impact at the top level.

Athletic List 5/16 draft picks playoff performance how they’d fair best on style

So it’s top 10 protected in 2027 so likely will be 11-32 and Bruins pick there
Prosportstransactions.com says this about the pick Florida traded to Chicago for Seth Jones: "2026 if Panthers do not trade their 2026 first round pick before 2025 draft, else 2027".
Not sure how accurate this is but it would suggest the Panthers could still trade their 2026 pick which would give Chicago their 2027 first and the Bruins their (unprotected?) 2028 first.

It’s dangerous to give the Bruins 2028 or anyone unprotected so I don’t see it but anything possible

That team within 10 days likely played the most games over a 3 year period ever

Lot of hard miles on them

Basil McRae was good

Bart Crashley

Btw if you didn’t see the documentary Whalers that just came out

Mark Howe says in 1977 the Bruins who held his rights offered him a 5 year deal which he was going to take - but the stinking Whalers wanted the whole family. Mark was going to sign with Boston, Marty with Montreal and Gordie would end up retiring. However, Colleen Howe basically told Mark if you don’t go to Hartford he’s done so he didn’t want to do that.

Mark said the Bruins 5 year deal was a lot more than the Whalers or WHA could afford.

Insane - Cherry Lunch Pail Gang from 77-79 would have had Park & Howe but of course altered everything that came afterwards
Bruce Shoebottom gets overlooked here when the names discussion arises.

So an average ranking of 6.31, sure seems to fit at #7 if just going by the rankings.
