Agreed.

And what the hell are they doing tossing Hagen's name around? He hasn't even been drafted yet.
Interesting article.
I see the logic in this.
This draft from 7-15 is a coin toss. I can see DS trading the 7th pick and moving down the ladder in the first round and getting a player that can play now, either a dee or decent forward and letting the first round pick develop for another year or two.
JGP from the Isle's only interests me if Mittelstadt is going the other way.
I would gladly take Dobson off them as he would fit in perfect to the second pairing.
Isles only have 20M in cap space and have RFA's to sign.

Bruins should get a great player at 7.
But so are the teams in the top-10 and some other beyond.

That’s the problem with the tank philosophy. It « may » eventually work. But only for one of them.

Habs in perenial rebuild and suck balls for years even with their #1 prospect list.

Edmonton with plenty of holes and not able to win even with two of the 5 bests players in NHL.

Sabres with gazilion top-10 picks for decades.

Tanking long term never/rarely works and if it does for 1 team, it fails for all the others.

Bruins with their first own top-10 picks since 2007. They have to hit cause they won’t get as good a pick for years with Pasta-McAvoy-Swayman leading the way.

That spike down awful 24-25 season was short term and resulted in great draft capitals, assets and Cap space back. They will rise back next year for a new great contending stretch.

Enjoy Bruins fans!

Why do you think they will be contenders next season, man that forwards lineup is woefully lacking.Unless they can wil a lot of 1-0 2-1 games ,I think it’s going to be a long season. But we will see I’m definitely no expert and have been wrong before.

It’s Murphy, so I usually start laughing before finishing the headline. No different here.

If the Isles think Hagens slip that far, I’d let them take our 7 if we can somehow 3 way with Verbeek and end up with McTavish and #10. Between Zegras, Dobson, Barzal,Pageau Mittelstadt, our 1sts, Poitras, maybe there is something there if you’re creative (read:crazy) and convincing.

That would be incredible if they were able to recoup assets to help the roster next year (McTavish/Dobson) and move down slightly to still draft a solid prospect whether it be a C or W.

I don’t hate that at all. Even if it means moving out a Mittlestadt or Poitras as well.

Dobson >>>>>>>> Carlo

Let’s not forget that we were without Lindholm for 80% of the season and we were without McAvoy for 35% of the season.
I fixed it for you :sarcasm: :thumbu:

Dobson is a much, much better player. Also younger.

And as you said, the d cores health was a huge factor.

Dobson >>> Carlo

Lets not forget that we were without Lindholm for 80% of the season and we were without McAvoy for 35% of the season.

He is, at least he's better getting the puck out of the zone with possession, and keeping the puck in the offensive zone.

That group stunk with Lindholm before his injury, and they stunk before McAvoy's injury too. We don't even know what to expect out of Lindholm next season. He may be a shadow of his former self.

Dobson and Pageau for 7 and something I would imagine. If they do that I quit
I would like Barzal, but not at 9.15 a year, if they retained 20% that would be fair.

Barzal / Dobson and Isles own 2026 first rounder for

HLindholm
Casey M
#7 pick

Barzal moves up to the number one center.
Our dee is instantly upgraded.
We have 3 number one picks in 2026 which will be a much deeper draft vs this year.

Isles get a shot at Hagens at 7 to go with Schaefer.

People realize Dobson is a righty, right? Why are we giving up Hampus?

Barzal has been a wing full time for three years (rightfully) and really most of the last five years - he's not a center.

Keep the 7 ov draft Hagens.

Trade CM for Pageau

#profit

Pass on Barzal, Dobson and trading Hampus
