NHL 2025 DRAFT - Bruins pick 7th III

He probably means fraud tough guys.

I always have found that an interesting point of view. I've always assumed the point of 'tough guys' in hockey was to help win games, not to create a sideshow for entertainment purposes (however some fans view it). If a team wins, not sure why it matters whether they are legit 'tough' or not in the sense that they would win a bar fight or a street brawl They are helping their teams win, or trying to do that.

What makes them total frauds?
He probably means fraud tough guys.

They have the whole league thinking Florida is big, tough and mean but really they run and hide when the gloves come off.

The Panthers dupe everyone into thinking they have to play super physical against them, even if it's not their game (like EDM, CAR, TOR...), so not only are they playing a way that doesn't suit them, that extra nastiness in the scrums seems to always end up in Florida power plays.

And I say that as someone who's been rooting for Florida to win. At first for the pick, but also for Brad, seeing him have so much fun has been nice.

They're the ultimate rat team. You can hate it, but also have to respect it. The results are the results.

Its the cheap play and total refusal to answer for any of it, and liver lips on that line just has a punchable face.
If they are winning, and they are, why do they have to "answer for it"? And to whom? If "answering for it" doesn't help them win, why bother, regardless of whether it offends the sensibilites of some fans?

Did you fall asleep under a tree and wake up a Canadiens fan?

That has been their mantra ever since their management started fielding shrimps on blades.

Taking a break as I wait for Brady Martin Era

Couple players who play wing and have a lot of NHL skill I would love in the second round

RYKER LEE RW (going to powerhouse Michigan State)

Not sure he gets to 51 but he’s a guy I’m very high on - see middle 6 RW~ second Line skills. Michigan State should be great for rounding out his defensive game/3 zone responsibilities

FILIP EKBERG LW - Ottawa OHL

Has the Swede attention to detail upbringing and playing in CHL

Was sick and deployed poorly so he should be much higher

Tore up U18 and took off down stretch for Ottawa

He’s quick but fast as well and unreal hands and smarts

Second round maybe 61 I take him

Neither may make it to even 51

Lee could crash first but im seeing mid to late second here

My thought as well. Because we're picking in a reasonably good spot this is a good draft to fill a roster and possibly get a gem.
If this were a completely top heavy draft, the seventh pick may have been too far down (even at 7) to get a really strong top 6 player.
All of them have their strengths and their warts. It's the strengths that are most prevalent vs. the warts that they (Bruins) can deal/live with over the players career.
I would love to have 3 players from this draft, problem is that only a couple of them (1-20) may even be able to contribute within 2-4 years.
So long as they don't trade down 5 spots again like they did in 2003. That move is right there with the 2015 1st round in team infamy.

Luckily they found Jesus in the second round.

Anything on Mason West who is projected second round? Elliottee Freidman mentioned him in his podcast today and said stock is rising albeit the kid is an unknown in that he size but has a lot of boom/bust factor according to EF.

He May be going to BC ~ ironically he’s a star HS QB but he’s not very physical in hockey more a skill guy

I’m assuming once his football season ends and he focuses on just hockey in USHL for remaining 25-26 he should be better

He can shoot and has size and skating (maybe not edging) is good

I haven’t deep dived but maybe 61 pick - don’t know

He’s gotta be fully committed for me

I probably can cover 51 and 61 for Bruins with someone else but would he really commit and go to BC?

Also is he good enough to get NIL money

College football player are star recruit graded

What is this guy

If I like a lot and Boston his much can you really trust

Sounds like a less experienced Letourneau. Great Athlete though obviously

Throw the farm for misa this team needs a true young franchise center for the next decade. Give them aN offer they cant refuse. 7th overall pick 2 second round picks this year draft toronto 1st round pick and a choice of lohrei or poitras . That should seal the deal. We have our number 1 center who could be Bedard or celebrini type
Asking for a friend: What if that "farm" were a hazardous waste site?
Even still, what if you give up all of that and the pick that you make ends up a bust, which is possible
at any first round pick.
You've just emptied (although weak) your cupboards of all of your warm bodies.
This isn't a Las Vegas movie where the hero pushes all of their chips in and wins a bazillian dollars.
This is the future of a billion dollar franchise with the careers of the people in the front office
at risk if they try to go from point 4 (where they're at) to point 10 (a Stanley Cup contender).
There are some vague shortcuts but "all in?" Naah.

I really hope the Bruins don't pick him. The scout Redline used as their main scout for West didn't even want him included in the top 100 but was overruled apparently.

I hate you for this. I don’t need this kind of worry.
The only player worth moving up for is Michael Misa. I wonder if San Jose is open to trading down. They really want a left shot defenseman and the Islanders aren’t trading the first overall. It would be a waste to pick Jackson Smith at 2, so moving back to number 7, picking up some assets and still getting your guy would be a good move for them.

Reading a few rumors that # 7 is on the table and Sweeney wants to move up in the draft.
He must be scared that McQueen won't be there at 7.
I can see trying to trade up to get Schaefer or Misa, but the other players are too closely grouped to give up assets to get any particular player. See who's available at 7 and take the BPA or trade someone like Zacha to SJS to swap 2 and 7.

The ultimate rat team. A great fit for Marchand.
