NHL 2025 DRAFT - Bruins pick 7th III

The scuttlebutt seems Bruins are confident they are getting Frondell or he will be there

They don’t leak but observations by others seeing their presence interest etc

I’m confident Schaefer, Misa, Martone, and Desnoyers are gone

Hagens should but Nashville is the key

O’Brien I would put more than 50% goes top 6

Martin is wild card

Interestingly the top two teams would probably be happy with Hagens (local) and Eklund (brother) but obviously early for Eklund and seems Hagens now as well
Yeah if Frondell gets to Nashville he is gone. There is another guy they got from that league that plays pretty well for them in Forsberg and I can see them thinking of the connection and mentoring he’d get. I would be surprised if Frondell slid pass them. Frondell could center or be on Forsberg’s left wing

this draft is really starting to remind me of 2003, no generational talent but a lot of high end guys spread throughout the 1st and second round

I wonder about that since all we heard for a long time was that it was a weak draft with a handful of players at the top end and a whole bunch of meh to follow. Specifically I am thinking as Bruins fans who have not had much to really invest in or discuss for the past few drafts now picking in the top ten is it just getting more attention? So is this draft really as previously advertised or is it actually more normal with a lot of solid future NHLers in it? I have no idea, really, just find it interesting.

I wouldn't expect a 18/19 year old to fix this team regardless.

I like McQueen but there are concerns, Bruins can't afford to blow this pick.

It depends what the end goal is. To get back into a contender, they need a 1c. Adding a 2nd line F isn't going to push the needle long term. Better off projecting for 3-4 years from now and building that team.

Assuming a healthy body, would you project McQueen, Frondell, or OBrien to have a better career? For me the whole age thing with McQueen concerns me more at this point more than his health, but I do think he has an upside that many others in 3-6 don’t, that if tapped, will have everybody regret not grabbing him. Martin also has a compete and grit X factor those others don’t imo, but doesn’t have the scoring or playmaking that would solidify him as a truly confident pick at #7.

All in all, I’m just happy our biggest problem is fighting over who will be best amongst these names because I see them all being solid top 6 players. Obviously we need a top line player, but our floor at 7 seems good.

Eklund was born a day later. Martone 24 days later. Hagens a month later…

"From all the [doctors] we've talked to, they've all said it's not something that continues," he said. "It's like breaking your arm, and then the chance of breaking it again. It's a healed bone. So, yeah, it's been awesome, and I feel 100 percent."

A healthy McQueen probably goes third in the draft. I lived through Gord Kluzak, among others, I would avoid players that already have an injury history like McQueens.

Hard to say, I do think McQueen has the most upside offensively.

I think O'Brien may have the highest upside of any player in the draft. He's got a lot of Krejci qualities. He's really smart and creative. He's also young and underdeveloped physically right now. He's a guy who's going to take some time but could be the best player from the draft in 5 years.

Martin is that unicorn. A guy who has high skill but also loves to hit hard and frequently. He's a JT Miller / Sam Bennett type. He's also young, a 2007. Some say he won't be able to be as physical in the NHL, but Miler and Bennet are only an inch taller and Martin could have some growing left in him.

I could see O'Brien being a 20 goal 80 point Krejci and Martin being a 30 goal 60 point Bennett. Pick your poison.
Interesting, thanks.

As I look at the Bruins roster I just see a clear need for skill. Guys with vision, guys who can open up seams, finish chances, etc. If your scouting report is right I guess I’d far prefer OBrien.

And I’m also biased against the tired Bruins chase for size and physicality. The last thing I want to hear is that they’re targeting a top 10 pick in rhe draft based on his desire to “hit everything”. Draft that in Round 3 or later.

Who there besides Carlo took above average head trauma on the Bruins? Lindgren as well but that all happened with the rags.
Debrusk was zonked out for like a year after Kadri's lunacy.

Lauzon got his bell rung at least once, maybe twice while he was making his way.

Vaak's career trajectory was significantly altered after getting smoked by that shitbag Borowiecki.

Lauko's been KO'd a couple times, and I think he came back minutes after at least twice.

Unnamed, but Lysell's game has significantly altered after each of his two concussions - once in junior, once in Providence.

Ah, you were being serious. Bummer, as it made a damn good joke !
