NHL 2025 DRAFT - Bruins pick 7th III

Hard to say, I do think McQueen has the most upside offensively.
I think he is 3-4 best offensive player. To me Misa, Hagens and OBrien are going to have more career points. I guess time will tell though. It is possible for McQueen to become the best player in the draft I just don’t see it. Misa is on another level and I think Hagens is going to be a weapon at the NHL level. OBriens passing highlights are ridiculous. You have to check them out if you haven’t. I think he will be a far better playmaker than krecji ever was.

He's a boom or bust type pick. Sweeney needs stay away, he needs to hit here. If he was picking 12-20 maybe, but not at 7.
If Hagens, Obrien, Desnoyers, frondell and Martin are off the board who would you pick?

I didn't consider Misa or Hagens.

I McQueen has more offensive upside than O'Brien. McQueen with that reach and touch could be a dominant force. Better skater already too.

Why do think this, he's averaged less than a point per game his whole WHL career?

He has unique tools O'Brien doesn't have. You can't teach his reach, its a huge advantage when you combine that reach with hands and touch and poise and he moves well for a 6'5 player, it's a rare combination. It's not meant to be a knock on O'Brien who will likely end up a excellent player, but McQueen's overall package just doesn't come along everyday. And this is coming from someone who really likes Eklund better than both for the Bruins pick.

Frondell at 1? This draft is going to be wild!

This confirms most of my biases except for Frondell. Figured he'd be top 5 but surprised he's at 1. A little surprised by McQueen but not very. He doesn't score at an exceptional rate while bigger and older. Kind of a red flag. Plus the injury. The reasoning makes sense. And then Hagens was on track but slowed a bit. Injury? Anomaly? Would be amazing if either Frondell or Hagens dropped. I'm excited. Bruins should get a really good player if Don doesn't go off the board of consensus top 7. (Schaefer, Misa, Martone, Hagens, Frondell, Desnoyers, JOB).

I think 4 of those dudes wont ever score 60 points in a season.

Kashawn Aitcheson

Michael Misa: “I played against him a couple of times this year. He’s a big D looking to hit you. He got me pretty good in the (OHL) prospect game (in January). He’s a tough D to play against.”

Anonymous Forward: “He’s the scariest guy to play against in the league. He’ll hit you and score on you. You hate playing against him.”

Anton Frondell, C/RW (Djurgardens, Allsvenskan)

Mans Goos: “He’s going to get around because he’s so good. He shoots so hard and the shot is precise. He hides (his shot) well. He’s so skilled all
It’s a real shame the Bruins moved on from Reid Dyck. Can you imagine a goalie group of Dyck, Bussi, and Mans Goos? Good lawd.

I was really ripping on him about that and it could be valid, however I've found out more recently that Getzlaf had very similar numbers during his WHL career. Only 18 points at 16, 68 in 70 games at 17, 75 in 49 games at 18 and only 54 in 51 games at 19. That doesn't mean McQueen will end up like Getzlaf but it's a possibility. Big guys do often develop slower.

You could say the same thing about Letourneau. Huge reach, soft hands, beautiful skater.

I’m not at all a Bader guy or especially a NHLe guy, but you put up 25 points in 29 games as a 17 year old in the Allvenskan, that should be a big factor. Arguably as impressive as the numbers Misa put up. And he’s 6’1 205 already with a cannon. He has a not insignificant chance of being the top player from this draft.

Feel like he’s been a bit taken for granted lately but probably prospect fatigue.

Throw the farm for misa this team needs a true young franchise center for the next decade. Give them a offer they cant refuse. 7th overall pick 2 second round picks this year draft toronto 1st round pick and a choice of lohrei or poitras . That should seal the deal. We have our number 1 center who could be Bedard or celebrini type
