I understand if they take McQueen but when it’s over Eklund I’m going to like DeBrusk over Connor feeling

I liked DeBrusk in that draft but at 20

ironically DeBrusk was the best of their three botched picks


Im starting to wonder if Bruins want to try and move another pick up and grab McQueen

I also think it wouldn't be crazy to try and move up even higher and grab Frondell and Eklund if Frondell slips

They aren’t moving up

There are going to be 3-4 guys like us they would take

I expect Don Godfather to be able to come off the meds and 24/7 risk monitoring to be reduced to weekdays 8-4:30 after the Bruins pick

The thought of Pastrnak & Eklund on RW is so tantalizing ~ you want to be exceptional at some things in life and the Bruins top 6 RW would likely be just that

It's just not happening. McQueen has size, stick handling, and what else? It’s not happening, they’re not taking him. I tell myself anyway

I still just don't see it with McQueen. He does have great hands. Watching these Highlights, I see more Eric Daze than future #1 center

I saw pictures of McQueen at the combine doing his workouts.
IMO he will be at least two years away, maybe longer to be physically strong enough to play with men.
We already have one first round project with Dean, we do not need another one.
Let another team take a flyer on him, we need to hit on this pick.
Eklund is the safest player at 7.
If one of Frondell/Hagens/Desnoyers fall to us, I have no issues taking them.

New pick prediction piece posted to the Athletic this morning. It is a bit more interesting than usual as it is informed by what the writer learned last week at the combine from talking to teams, scouts, other media. So a bit more insight.

They have the Bruins taking Martin if he is available at 7 with O’Brien, Mrtka, and McQueen still on the board.

The two writers drafting have Martin going 10 and 11, and Eklund going 10 and 13.

Not for nothing, but what do you expect the kid to say a month before the biggest day of his life? “Ouch. Still hurts!”?

FL 1st and a second would probably do it. Or maybe someone like Lysell. Worth a gamble if Martin is around 10-11 and if not hopefully Mrtka, Bear or Carbonneau is there.

The Athletic has the Bruins taking Brady Martin at #7, and says he'll get serious consideration from teams in the 4-6 range as well.

Martin confirmed to reporters that the Bruins were among the teams to take him out to dinner. The others were the Utah Mammoth, Nashville Predators and the Philadelphia Flyers — all who have higher picks in the draft than Boston.

Incredibly interesting. Martin and OBrien before 7 would really put Boston in a nice place, though Utah wants to trade back so maybe they expecting him to be around later. Any top 6 pick teams take a D out?

This is absolutely my fear. They seem obsessed with size and lousy at drafting size that turns into anything.

McQueen specifically scares me in that regard. But on the other hand, if the draft goes by the chalk, he’d have the highest upside of anyone left right? So there’s a case to grab him.

Wow, man. Thanks for posting those.

It's so weird how the eye test tells me half of those are 100% spot on while the other half are just crazy. I'd love to see one normal person view a random Roger McQueen game and come away with that rosy an impression. I'd estimate McQueen can look like that in one out of every four of his shifts (not effing way defensively though), but in those other shifts, he can make you wonder who the hell has him ranked high enough to go in the first round.

I also though I was missing something with Frondell, but that evaluation is just brutal.

Still, I'm sure those evaluations are going to open some eyes. Excellent contribution.

Is Frondell outside, say, your top 10? Is there something maybe Puljujarvi-ish or Laine-ish about him where he’ll disappoint the team that takes him either right out of the gate or down the road?

Move down get another 2nd round pick or something or trade it and get a rossi plus other goodies or add all your picks and move up as high as you can get a haggens or something .

-I’d do a 2026/2027 1st and Poitras to get up in the teens. Or 1st and Mittelstadt (15% retained)? Where does all 3 get you?

- I wonder if there’s a scenario where you can get Ottawas 18OA and Pinto. Probably give them Minten in that deal…

-LA’s 24OA and Turcotte, Nashvilles 23OA and Evangeista, CBJs 20OA and Luca DBB. Even just a high 2nd would be nice. Some teams have multiple 1sts and 2nds.

- I would trade Peeke for a 2nd/3/rd just to combine picks and trade up, and use that cap space towards a better 2RHD. Fill third pairing with someone cheap.

Maybe you can get up to the around the 5th pick in the second round. Not worth it to me.

Too much chatter around Martin. My guess he goes before the Bruins pick. Maybe even a McQueen,O’Brein or Aitcheson as well. Bruins are going to get a player at 7.
