NHL 2025 DRAFT - Bruins pick 7th II

Isn't tanking for McKenna like hoping you buy a ticket and win the lottery. Chances are slim to none the Bruins would consider even remotely doing this anyway. The Bruins know who the top ten players are and pick at 7. Lets hope they pick at 7 and add a decent prospect. They are either rebuilding or retooling. Rebuilding takes time and has great benefits if done properly. To rebuild a team has to take a couple on the chin going forward to garner some of the top prospects available. Depends on whether the owners and the GM have the patience do take the time to do it properly. Maybe the fans are in more of a rush.
Retooling is the way to go. Need to build with smart trades and FA signings. Rebuilds if successful take forever and hardly ever work.

Rebuilding is fools gold.

Even if you go 0-82, you have a 82% chance of not getting McKenna, and a 63% chance of picking 3rd

If they were truly tanking they would have traded Pasta. Sweeney is probably looking more at the Washington model of retooling quickly. I doubt McKenna is going to be an option next year willingly. Wheels will have to continually fall off even with the return of Lindholm, MacVoy and whatever they pick up this off season. It’s not impossible but they certainly aren’t going to try to tank. It will naturally occur if it does happen.
I couldn't imagine being at a game in Boston where the team was in tank mode. It's a hell of a challenge to retool. Hopefully Sweeney can put the team back into contention soon. Lets hope the Bruins stick to whatever they said they would do to correct all the issues they ran into last season. Anyway I've been a Bruin fan for 75 years. This old leopard will never change his spots no matter what happens. ;)

If the Bruins get one of Frondell, Eklund, O'Brien or maybe Martin, stock up in later rounds and either trade for Howard or offer sheet an RFA, then UFA signings of Ehlers and Duchesne make sense to me.

Don't overpay anyone on the 2024-25 roster...either.

One can dream.

At 7 one of the 2 Swedes will be there along with O'Brien. Also be reminded that Sweeney scouted Obrien and McQueen during the 1 week of CHL playoffs.
What if Sweeney really like McQueen??
Maybe I'm a McQueen fanboy, but I'd be happy with that pick. I get the risk, but he could be the steal of the draft if he is what people think he might be... a true 1C with size, skill and physicality.

I hate to break it to you but this is a rebuild. The roster is completely depleted. They tore it down almost completely

This isn’t a retool and try for another run again next year and probably not the year after either

I begin to have some questions about Frondell. Why does he disappear from games? is it an effort issue, an acceleration issue or what? Given his shot and tools he should be even better in big games. I might take Eklund instead.

I anticipate he falls to 7 and the Bruins take him fwiw.
Wondering if o Brian stock goes high it seems it is . If that occurs one of the big 6 lands to us and frondell is one of them. Gonna be very interesting all these mock drafts I see is going all over the place.
