I would welcome a USA rematch despite today. I would be fine with Finn's too despite them beating Canada. I fear it ends with Sweden or Canada though.I would just repeat myself.. The results were better than the performances. The team is not as strong as last year. I think that is obvious. Still, if we play against Finland, I see a fifty-fifty chance. If against the USA, it will be a slightly more difficult opponent. But today it was a somewhat timid performance and I believe that the second time we could be better.
We did a bit, still we played really good hockey .. our big weakness is D and it showed today, Krejcik should be send to stands for this game its 70% his fault we lost ... we were up 2:1 and the game was stable, then again I wasnt watching so dont know if it was a BS call or not, you just cant get a 2+2 against NHL f***in stacked USA.I would just repeat myself.. lots of possible scenarios, thanks for the overview! personally, I am hoping we get the USA in a rematchView attachment 1039443
Help me out. We are 3rd.
Sweden beats Canada clean.... we get Finland
Sweden beats Canada in OT we get Canada
Canada beats Sweden in Regulation ... we get Sweden
Canada beats Sweden in OT we get Canada
And then.. if Denmark beats Germany and Sweden is first, we get the USA in a rematch.
@czechmate I hope this is correct but I'd fact check.lol
Now imagine the best on best olympics...No they are simply too fast for this D
Agreed, feel like we can do better against them. I didn't mind today but they were better. I feel we can be better too! Thursday is going to be stressful like always.lollots of possible scenarios, thanks for the overview! personally, I am hoping we get the USA in a rematch![]()
I am not a big fan of the "we want a weaker QF opponent" mentality. The winner mentality is "we are going to beat anyone." Especially when you are the reigning champion.I would welcome a USA rematch despite today. I would be fine with Finn's too despite them beating Canada. I fear it ends with Sweden or Canada though.
I never thought we were a gold medal team and just wanted a nice quarter and a chance to battle for a medal.
Not good, very tough opponent and they are stacked .. still I would say the most playable one out of the trio: Sweden, USA, CanadaWell. Bring on Sweden. Not a good scenario at all.
Usa is the easiest I think then swedenNot good, very tough opponent and they are stacked .. still I would say the most playable one out of the trio: Sweden, USA, Canada
Seedings and rankings are designed to favor the better players or teams. So I agree a winner mentality is to beat everyone. But I don't think a winner mentality is to finish third or fourth in your pool and have three hard opponents for gold.I am not a big fan of the "we want a weaker QF opponent" mentality. The team is experienced. They know themselves they were lacking extra energy today, which was the crucial factor vs. the extremely well skating, flashy US team. I little doubt the QF game will look better. Will it be enough to win? Hard do predict because the opponent will be strong too. But it's going to be a good game.
And we beat them 7-4 last time and I doubt they forgot. It is the Czech way though. Last year it was a loss to Canada and then USA, Sweden and the Swiss. Nagano was USA, Canada and Russia. Not good, very tough opponent and they are stacked .. still I would say the most playable one out of the trio: Sweden, USA, Canada
It is reseeded after quarter-finals. First team in the standings after preliminary round will play last ranked team and 2nd ranked team from semi-finalists will play 3rd ranked team.Semis bracket?
