WC: 2025 Czech Team

I will be against you with this lol, lets see who will be the "I told you so" guy in the end.

I still dont kinda feel it even with Pasta, Hronek and Vej. Thats just three guys. Canada. Sweden, USA will have 15-20 such a guys (okay maybe not Pasta like guys lol) but still a huge line of top 6 F and Top 4 D in their lineup, with couple of elites like Thompson, Keller, Forsberg, Raymond etc. etc.

Given also that lot of our top Euro guys are missing, and our D will basically rely on 33-35 yrs old Krejcik, Kundratek and Kempny after Hronek ... I just dont feel it

At least yet, with Necas, Hertl and Klapka .. yeah then I could see us with a bit of luck score a medal .. but still wouldnt be very sure about our D .. I mean yeah Krejcik, Kundratek, Kempny, Spacek were all great last year ... but can they do it again? It would be extremely hard ...

We will see, we will see, I want us to play nice hockey, make the QF without unnecessary complications, and then whaterver happens I will be content .. this year I will not be a very demanding fan lol

Obviously Necas and Hertl would be huge for us.

I don't think there is a better forward then Pasta in the tourney. His 2025 is absolutely insane and he's 28 and at his peak:

Vej is a top goalie and I'm not worried. Hronek is also keeping great company in 2025

Seider is coming and he's better but I'm not sure how many more guys are that much better than Hronek? Swedes probably have a few. Is Fox going? Werenski?

I do agree we aren't gold. I just think Pasta gets the boys together. Last time we had Vej, Pasta and Hronek we got Bronze.

I do see your point though.

Oh and our D isn't that old... Spacek, Hajek, Zboril and Hronek are in their 20's! I expect them all on the final roster. Yes, Kempny and Krejcik are old.lol Average age will be near 28. The Gazda invite is intirguing too!

Is Klapka really such a gamechanger? It seems to me that anyone who gets to the fourth line in the NHL starts to be idolized by some. And yet, he is a below-average player in the NHL for the vast majority of the time.

This year. In this our team. He can be game changer. He was almost ppg player in last few macthes on flames roster.

I hope he gets a chance in Brno.
I saw some highlights with Calgary in the NHL and the points Klapka made in them, but I didn't think I saw anything special.
 
Lets hope for Sedlak and Cervenka 🙏 and I think Flek will be invited. All are proven in NT and playing well in final macthes.

I think the D is pretty much given to be like that, maybe Tichacek or Gazda can steal one spot and one of them will be the 8th

Forwards are extremely hard to tell, since besides Pasta, Zadina, Cervus and Sedlak all the other guys are pretty even and I even left out a couple who can be there instead

Of course dream F group would be:
Klapka - Cervus - Pasta
Sedlak - Hertl - Necas
Zadina - Spacek - Stransky
Vozenilek - Lauko - Beranek - Kondelik

What a man and patriot Pasta is. He knows the team is much weaker than last year, medal prospects are much lower and the spotlight will be on him. He knows that if the team does not do well and he does not perform perfectly, because of his stature in the game many will seek to blame him. He knows many Czech players who are not injured have decided not to play. Yet he still is going to join the team!

No, he isn't. These are overreactions to his few good games in the NHL. He still has much higher chance that he will end up in the AHL and then head back to Europe, than becoming NHL bottom 6 player. But of course I wish him nothing else than success, that's just me trying to be realistic.

Every fan of any NHL team has seen this many times - younger player who got his first call up to NHL team, incredibly motivated, puts up some good stretch of games, but ultimately disappears - can not stay on that level through the most of the NHL season. Obviously I will be glad if I am wrong about Klapka.

I mean he had pretty great AHL season, yes we are back in the AHL vs Europe battle lol. So if he would be in europe and had almost PPG he would be in the team without question.

And add to that 36 games in NHL with ascending trajectory where he was ending as a 1st line almost PPG player. So he is probably in a good form

Given the state of our forward group this year I will take him with all ten

They are banning people who are against government and also those who are not rabidly anti russian from talking at czech news portals and social networks, so you will see comments of 15% of czech Hasek-like pro government people and maybe AI bots, maybe not even that.

What? That's total BS. No idea from where you got this. Pastrnak and his popularity in the Czech Republic is like through the roof, so in other words very, very high.

I will say this: I hate Ovechkin when "my fav team, or Czech team" play against him, and will hope that someone destroys him with good, clean hit. But otherwise I am fan of Ovie, and really enjoy to watch him, that is pretty obvious - GOAT. And to be honest, it was awesome to watch him lift the Cup back in 2018, emotions that he showed. He really deserved to win the SC in his career.
