WJC: 2025 Czech Team

Certainly a good looking squad. Nothing truly elite offensively but still a good selection of players.
Usually good defense and goaltending succeeds in this tournament. We certainly have that potential. Really hope jiricek or Badinka make it. If by some miracle they both can, I’d be pretty confident in a medal tbh.

If neither do, I’m still glad that Czech hockey is at a point where it can still fill in those holes fairly well.

Either way it will super fun to watch as usual and this year especially live.

Offense is not what worries me this year but defence is. If Jiricek is injured and Badinka for whatever reason wont come, that who do we have? Dvorak ... and who else? Mrtka is only 17 and the rest if I am not forgetting anyone is kinda forgettable sadly

Oh man completely forgot Galvas lol. Then Dvorak, Galvas, Mrtka should be a good core. Koci, Port and Skok are average at best imho, and Fibigr has terrible season so far sadly.

Damn that sucks Jiricek, Badinka, Dvorak, Galvas, Mrtka as a D core would be lovely.

That's actually true. I looked and it is not written among the injured on the Ocelari website. I guess it's the coach's decision. Unnecessary fouls. That's how others made them today.

I feel for my Czech friends. That roster is no bueno. Almost all the players we wanted to see are missing.

Roster looks OK. Pity Adam Jiříček is injured. Regarding Badinka, he is talented for sure but talent isn't everything. He closed the door to the U20 team by himself due to the terrible approach he was showing whenever invited. From what I understood, he was basically uncoachable. Dude has got potential but has to make things up in his head.

Last years team didn‘t look really special either and we almost had no chance against you guys despite the score being close. But very experienced roster but i was a bit surprised that they left out Mrtka and chose cihar and novotny over benak.
