The funny thing is that nobody wrote anything negative about Volas until he was nominated. I guess it will be a punishment for Mr. Goodman:laugh:
The related ironic request to cut Jiříček reminds me of a scene that happened a few days ago. I saw the match in the pub. We played Sparta and scored a goal in the third period. And half of the pub started shouting ironically: video, video! (it's related to Třinec's past matches, but that doesn't matter). Well, in a few seconds, half of the pub saw the goal called off. So be careful with those wishes about the cut. We know the history of Jiříček.

Volas is a solid defenseman. He is tall, strong, reliable. I am not saying he is going to be any world class star but definitely a good player.

Looks quite a lot like classic top 6 - bottom 6 model of forward lines. Let's see how it works.
Not sure what to make of no Volas or Cihar?

It's exhibition so I get this isn't permanent but I didn't have Mastalarsky on top line or Husiensky on top pair. Dvorak and Jiricek.. yes please.

Coaches better fix the offence. Not much going there. Sale needs better partners.
Defence was ok but didn’t break out too well. Wanted more from jiricek and Galvas.
Just pre-tourney but I’m glad no injuries anyways.

I didn't notice Galvas or Sale at all. Curious who his real linemates are on boxing day. That line didn't have much.

A good preparation game. Many things remain to fix (for both teams I assume), but the game had some high quality elements, was quite competitive for an exhibition. The tournament games will see an even higher pace for sure but there were things in all three zones which were looking pretty solid. Rotations in the offensive zone, layers in the defensive one. The defensemen were quite good around the own net for most of the game. What they need to improve is the forwards-defensemen cooperation on the offensive blue line, and also some bad unforced turnovers in the neutral zone need to be avoided. There is still some practice time and team meetings ahead, so they can work on these problems a bit.

Šalé was really good with the puck and defensively, just seemed to have a bit tired legs.

- it's good that Volas didn't play with number 9, he would have been shot after the first period
- I don't understand what Šimek is doing in that team
- before the third Canadian goal and Židlický's decision.. wtf??
- overall, it seems to me that the team will probably lack players like Becher and Melovský last year (even though we didn't play a single power play, maybe I'm wrong)
- a draw would be undeserved. I guess it turned out that we won't be enough for the top teams
- still, it wasn't an entirely bad performance

Nothing turned out. Canada is the top gold medal contender, perhaps along with the US. When they were playing Sweden, another very strong team, they were pushing them under pressure for most of the game. The Canada - Finland game and virtually all Canada's games will probably look a lot like today's one. Canada having bigger offensive zone time, more shots and looking like the more dangerous team overall, the opponent focusing on a good defense with some ocassional pushes forward. Still, if we have a real good day like in the last year's QF we can beat them again.

I really liked the 2nd line F and D today.

Hrabal can steal a big win or two. He's remarkable.

Galvas is ultra-talented. His lack of size though is obviously why he wasn't drafted. He just can't be effective due to his physical limitations. He needs to put on weight fast.

Husinecky was horrible. Tons of giveaways, poor positioning. How this kid is there over Badinka is beyond me.

We could have beaten them today too. The match was more even than last year. But if we finish the match according to the odds, they will definitely win by more than one goal.
Maybe we will be better in creativity, which is the most important thing in power plays. But still, something tells me that last year will not be repeated in terms of the productivity of our players. But I would be very happy to be wrong

So I jus watched the recap cause it was at night of course, how did we look, score looks kinda promising.

That giveaway before 3rd Canadian goal though, just wtf, I watched if at phone so I don't know which player was it, but that was some shit worth you being immediately scratched if you do that lol, such a stupidity 2mins before the end.

Cihar not playing gives me worry that's he is gonna be the one cut. I think we can all agree it needs to be Simek, that guy is nowhere close international level.

But 3-2 looks good, could have been a draw even. Looking forward to 26.
