Value of: 2025 3OA

This gets us pretty close according to PuckPedia

View attachment 1032947

2025 1st overall for 2025 3rd overall, 2025 29th overall, 2025 34th overall and the Florida 2026 first round pick.
I don’t know why we’re using this as a determination for trade value. Far more likely that in reality the value to drop back is one of the first rounders. Beyond that they say absolutely not.

What would something around Barzal for #3 look like?.
Imo Hawks would have to add substantially but I could be way off there

Thought process is:
Bedard needs help now not 2 years from now and Isles should go full rebuild
Barzal-Bedard connection, Isles want Hagens (Not at #1, not giving up #1)

It would never happen, but I would love to see something around 3rd overall (+ some combo of Korchinski, Rinzel, Moore, Dach, Reichel, ?, future 1st, etc) for Pastrnak

there is another guy making 3.0 mil for 4 or 5 years i think. Engvall. What is the value of taking his contract? an early second?

5 years. lol

I would put both Engvall and Duclair at early to mid 2nd round negative value

Of the 2 tough choice which might be worse

Engvall can be useful, maybe about ~500k to much now but the term kills. One positive of his contract is it almost makes him waiver proof for roster management if you need to send somebody down for a roster spot.

Duclair if not scoring is useless and has 3 more years. This is one you hope you can get him to find his scoring ability and is a stopgap for 3 years

Isn’t a 1st line center or wing pretty much what you’d hope to get at 3rd overall? Going to be hard to convince a team to trade you one for a pick to select a player that might become one.

My thoughts exactly.

Either swap with NYI or just make the pick.

I really like Misa, but he isn’t a guy you trade a stupid amount of assets to trade for.

Just make the pick at 3, pretty simple.

Engvall has more term but his buyout is essentially $1m and has shown he’s been useful when scared enough. Duclair just shuts down pending injury.

I
Considering how close the top 3 is, both offer are too much and the first one is ridiculous
Disagree, the top 3 aren't close, there's quite the gap from two to three but that's not a Rinzel worthy gap still who I think is a can't miss top 4 RD

Isles have too many guys to move to do a full blown rebuild.
30+ year old Vets with term: Pelech, Pulloch, Mayfield - all Dmen
28-30 year old vets with term: Sorokin, Horvat, Barzal
25 year old Dmen - Dobson, Romanov - have 1 and 2 years left before UFA. If the Isles go rebuild, they have to decide whether they wish to stick around and not make the PO again until their 30's or opt to get moved.

Would have to move at least 4 or up to 5 of the players in the top 2 rows.

Isles will aim to move the likes of Lee, Cziskas, Pageau.

Hagen's has fallen off, he will be lucky to stay in the top 5 at this point imo.
I know. Who got the #1 pick? It’s still going to be Schaefer but I wouldn’t be surprised if islanders debate Hagens and him just because Hagens is the hometown kid.

IMO you always pick the best available player first overall and that’s Schaefer but this is the islanders we are talking about.
