Sure, that’s the most likely scenario. I was just curious what else is theoretically out there.Just keep the third pick and make the selection
SureAny interest in trading back to 6?
there is another guy making 3.0 mil for 4 or 5 years i think. Engvall. What is the value of taking his contract? an early second?
Yikes. That would be a quick way for Kyle Davidson to have Hawk fans calling for his head.I feel like The Godfather offer would be Levshunov + #3.
Rinzel + #3 feels light.
It’s an absolutely stupid over payment not worth entertaining.Yikes. That would be a quick way for Kyle Davidson to have Hawk fans calling for his head.
Isn’t a 1st line center or wing pretty much what you’d hope to get at 3rd overall? Going to be hard to convince a team to trade you one for a pick to select a player that might become one.
Engvall has more term but his buyout is essentially $1m and has shown he’s been useful when scared enough. Duclair just shuts down pending injury.5 years. lol
I would put both Engvall and Duclair at early to mid 2nd round negative value
Of the 2 tough choice which might be worse
Engvall can be useful, maybe about ~500k to much now but the term kills. One positive of his contract is it almost makes him waiver proof for roster management if you need to send somebody down for a roster spot.
Duclair if not scoring is useless and has 3 more years. This is one you hope you can get him to find his scoring ability and is a stopgap for 3 years
Considering how close the top 3 is, both offer are too much and the first one is ridiculousI feel like The Godfather offer would be Levshunov + #3.
Rinzel + #3 feels light.
Disagree, the top 3 aren't close, there's quite the gap from two to three but that's not a Rinzel worthy gap still who I think is a can't miss top 4 RDConsidering how close the top 3 is, both offer are too much and the first one is ridiculous
Top 2 is close.Considering how close the top 3 is, both offer are too much and the first one is ridiculous
The last time a team knowingly traded out of #1 was who again? And when? I promise you Toronto's 1st ain't cutting it.It’s an absolutely stupid over payment not worth entertaining.
Hagen's has fallen off, he will be lucky to stay in the top 5 at this point imo.Misa is not going first overall. Schafer has like a 70% chance of it. Hagens a 20% and then Martone and Misa 5% each
Isles have too many guys to move to do a full blown rebuild. What would something around Barzal for #3 look like?.
Imo Hawks would have to add substantially but I could be way off there
Thought process is:
Bedard needs help now not 2 years from now and Isles should go full rebuild
Barzal-Bedard connection, Isles want Hagens (Not at #1, not giving up #1)
I know. Who got the #1 pick? It’s still going to be Schaefer but I wouldn’t be surprised if islanders debate Hagens and him just because Hagens is the hometown kid.Hagen's has fallen off, he will be lucky to stay in the top 5 at this point imo.
Trading for the #1 overall pick isn't just making change for a dollar. This gets us pretty close according to PuckPedia

2025 1st overall for 2025 3rd overall, 2025 29th overall, 2025 34th overall and the Florida 2026 first round pick.
Rinzel wouldn't move the needle but Levshunov is definitely an overpayI feel like The Godfather offer would be Levshunov + #3.
Rinzel + #3 feels light.
Godfather offer = an offer you can't refuse. Pretty much by definition it's an overpay.Rinzel wouldn't move the needle but Levshunov is definitely an overpay
ah I get it, makes sense.Godfather offer = an offer you can't refuse. Pretty much by definition it's an overpay.
No but making change for a dollar is what you do when you post fantasy trades on here I thought. Magically a team will accept because you give them enough mediocre pieces.Trading for the #1 overall pick isn't just making change for a dollar.
