GDT: 2025-26 season game #59 Los Angeles Kings vs Calgary Flames @4:00pm 2/28/26

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Xenforo Cloud is upgrading us to version 2.3.11 on Monday July 20, 2026 at 12:00 AM PST. Expect a temporary downtime during this process. More info here
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.

As good as they were at home last year, they're as bad at home this year.

They're down with the dregs of the league in home wins, but up with the contenders in road losses. Just the road record in general is up there.

After those two fully embarrassing losses, I do expect a better effort, and a win, but they'll struggle to get it. Like 2-1, with the Flames controlling the last couple minutes to get the tying goal sort of thing.

Kings medical staff/injury reporting strikes again!

Oh don’t know why he’s out but it’s no big deal you can consider him day to day

Seems like almost everyone is onboard with the tank now.

Who are the few holdouts still hoping to make the playoffs? Show yourselves.

While I won't root for the team to lose, this season has been vexing to say the least, especially with how ridiculous the west has been with the point spread of being a footstep away from the playoffs or lottery pick for first overall. I've always wondered what it would be like if the Kings ever drafted a 1st overall talent, but let's not start with McKenna, he's no Bedard or Celebrini.

Can't say I am pumped for today, probably the least interested I've been for a Kings game is quite some time. I'm honestly just hoping Kopitar gets his points, passes Dionne, and goes out as best he can at this point. They need the win, but a lot of other things are needed a whole lot more at this point...

I want the Kings to rebuild, but I can never root for a loss.
And that is why I say:

1) Get rid of the draft

OR

2) De-correlate the draft from the standings.

As fans, we should never have to root for our team to lose. There should be no reward for incompetence. And yet there is. So I'm forced to root for the team to lose against my will, but I understand those who can't.

Rooting for your team to lose is gutless, p***y bullshit. And for those who claim that’s your stance, I don’t believe it anyways because you wouldn’t spend your life on a message board talking about said team.

Must lose! Let's go!
Get those picks!

Edit: How many more losses for Hiller to get canned?

Doing either may disincentivize you from rooting against them, but are you saying you wouldn't root for the Kings to lose if it has a better chance of Luc getting fired? Sounds like the potential in the draft may lessen the sting, but it's not exclusively the reason you root for losses.

And getting a higher pick isn't necessarily a reward. If the team's incompetent and can't manage their picks, they don't benefit from it.

But the whole draft discussion is probably more appropriate in a separate thread.
