NHL player agent Allan Walsh says with confidence the salary cap for the 2025/2026 season will be $97 million.

This would be a $9,000,000 increase from the current $88,000,000 cap, and an approximate 10% jump compared to the 5% we have been expecting. Overall it would inject a potential extra $288,000,000 across the league to be spent comparing this season to next.

Could be a wild free agency upcoming if this proves factual

He said UPPER LIMIT. This means that it will be no higher than $97M. It could still be lower even if he is 100% correct.

Upper limit in this context refers to the cap ceiling. It is worded as such because not every team will spend to the upper limit and operate at the ceiling.

Most teams might be able to give out thank you bonuses but to find another guy on your team even worth 4.5 more... yikes
