2025 26 Roster…too Soon

One thing for certain in these playoffs, heavy skill and balls wins games. Florida is man handling Carolina with the physical play. Soft skill doesn't survive when the game gets gritty.
Carolina is constructed entirely around fancy stats

It's a team that only wins on computer simulations

Vlasic, Rinzel, Murphy, Kaiser, Crevier, Del Mastro, Allan. There’s seven and you can have KK and Lev down in Rockford.
Rinzel had few games. Del Mastro was scracth often at the end of the season. Allan was back in Rockford. All of them are still able to go Rockford and should.

Crevier and Kaiser(maybe) would have to go throw waivers so I would keep them in NHL.

I'm still curious if Soderstrom is coming over. Could influence how quick you move Murphy

He’s apparently having a kid this summer so not sure he goes over just to play in the AHL. I think it also depends on if Lev is in the AHL next year or not. Feels like Rinzel and Murphy are going to be the two of the three RHD but the last one is up for grabs between Lev/Söderstrom (or maybe they trade/sign someone else).

They're probably going to sign another vet D. Nothing fancy but someone to provide some experience back there. That said, Rinzel showed me enough that he's ready. He was their best D in every game he played. Del Mastro was scratched but it wasn't because of his play but more because they wanted to give minutes to other guys like KK, Kaiser, and Rinzel plus Murphy, Vlasic, Crevier, and Martinez were on the roster.

Allan is probably going to get traded. He'll be a sweetener for something else as he clearly has been passed by other players (Vlasic, Kaiser, Korchinski, and Del Mastro).

Call me crazy but I could see Crevier getting an offer sheet. He's not that great but he's 6'8, right handed, and can skate. An offer sheet of $1.5M is zero compensation in return and under $2.3M is only a 3rd round pick.

Yea Florida is not the team that we're going to emulate lol. They don't have a single forward in their top 6 under 6'1 and Marchard who plays on their third line is the only player they have under 6 foot.

They don't have anyone like Bedard on their roster

This is why I would look to take Frondell and have him center Bedard, but that's just my opinion...I have my concerns about Bedard's game thriving in playoff hockey if he's asked to play center

Is this the slowest rebuild ever? How many top 3 picks do we need to get back in playoff contention? SMH
The Kane and Toews hawks had 3

The pens had a bunch of top 5 picks from 02-06

We are just now seeing our first rounders from the 2022 class show up you are just impatient this isn’t the nba where a single top pick turns a team into a playoff contender

Definitely not, but the Hawks seriously need to start building in that direction - even if you'll never get that far.

I think the takeaway from this series is that size does matter in the playoffs. 12 forwards and 6 defensemen on the Panthers roster are 6’1” or taller. Marchand is their only small forward at 5’9” and he’s playing on their 3rd line. The next closest are Rodrigues and Samoskevich at 5’11”. In the end, you can have small forwards, but you frankly can only have so many on your roster and you need to insulate those players with size around them.

I was thinking the same thing last night. Every forward added from here on out should be 6’2” and 200 pounds or larger. Bedard and Nazar can be the two “small” guys, and Moore is kind of in between
