2025 26 Roster…too Soon

why? it increases the cup ceiling when the rebuild is done
Because is a loser mentality. Look at the Bears. Once losing becomes the culture, it's very hard to change. I do not want that to happen to yet another Chicago team.

Try to compete in 2025-26. If crap turns south during the season, then whatever. But the first thought for the new season should not be...LOSE, LOSE, LOSE.

Marner costs just money and if you are not United center regular then never your money. You don’t want him is fine but you are willing to trade assets for Peterka. How has he been in playoffs or Howard? Knies at least been good in playoffs and Toronto probably makes chances but they would be insane to lose Knies trade. Meaning massive overpayment.

So offer sheets are not happening then as that would mitigate our odds of drafting McKenna.

Marner is a no go for me.

Stay the course, its working, our rebuild is on target, keep it going.

No more signing of veterans just to do so.

Audition for jobs for the youngsters time.
The course was to be better than bottom 2-4 this season so what is the target for next year and how to get there?

honestly, the target for next year should be to give yourself a decent shot at winning the draft lottery and thus McKenna...and let the kids grow and get loads of ice time.

players can change cultures overnight, look at the Cubs rebuild...they did it the right way and had a contention window pretty soon after and won a title, its a sound approach to stack 4-5 drafts but it requires a lot of patience because you get to year 3 and realize oh shit we can see the end and you naturally want to speed it up, this team needs a few more top picks at forward to have a real contention window, there are levels to a playoff team and a true contender and you need stars to be the latter, half the league is the former but they're really just wasting their time stuck in the middle hoping for that sub 5% chance at a cup because that's realistically what they have year after year...I personally want a core that has a 1 in 5 chance, not a 1 in 20 chance, if I'm going to invest real time as a fan

there is a real chance that Knies is the true untouchable on that roster, the management team is going to get tired of the current core and be ready to tear it down and Knies would be a foundational piece for them to build around, they're not giving him up in a trade for anything short of a package that would really cost the Hawks

Knies, McTavish, Peterka..those are the 3 trade targets for Blackhawks this off-season. If the Blackhawks don't trade up from 3 to get 1 of Schaefer or Misa then use the pick in a trade

If they do hire Blashill and this is potentially KD last coaching hire, then maybe expect them to make some really aggressive moves this summer to 'speed it up'...just asking for the rebuild to stall if this scenario plays out

Toronto is going to let Marner walk and prioritize signing Knies.
Paul Goodman out as strength and conditioning coach percScott powers.
See ya Paul Bunyans

Why does anyone have a problem with hiring Blashill? He has 20 years of coaching experience, with 12 years of HC experience (including 7 years in the NHL). He won at the USHL level, won at the AHL level and took over a Red Wings team that was in decline.

Did you all want Carle because he was the shiny toy, unblemished by any time in the NHL?

Does anyone here know what Blashill's coaching philosophies are or what his relationship with players is/was?

Keith Toews & Kane had the proper training . Get whoever any of them used . Get Rinzel's brother .

Goodman was here the entire dynasty run... but times and focuses also shift. Toews alone went back and forth through the years
