Moore season at Minn

36 GP
12 G
19 A
31 pts
+15

Is somehow on par with Gavin Hayes season in Rockford

33 GP
2 goals
5 assists
7 pts
-4

Sorry but people being super down on Moore right now is odd and to claim his season is comparable to Hayes who if we are being honest like Ludwinski has not looked good in 1st year as pro

Ludwinski + Hayes + Gajan are clearly the big disappointments as far as prospect performance this year
Both were subpar seasons relative to expectations. Moore is way better and will be a player but he was downgraded from top 6 potential to middle 6 potential this year.

Great year on the farm
A+ Lardis, Nazar, Crevier
A Levshunov, Boisvert
A- Rinzel, Kantserov, Allan
B+ EDM, Pridham, Korchinski
B Dach, Greene, Mustard, Thompson, James
B- Vanaker, Spellacy,
C+
C
C- Moore, Hayes, Commesso (heated up a bit lately so saved himself)
D+
D Misiak
D-
F Gajan, Ludwinski

Not sure why Vanacker is a B- in your eyes. Sure he's coming back from an injury and didn't have an offseason to train, but you would think he would be putting up better numbers than he has, especially since he was well over a PPG last season being a year younger and essentially playing with one arm. Hopefully that last game catapults him the rest of the way. B- though for this season? 0 shot.

question about front loaded contracts. 1) would it be wise/possible to frontload a contract for Marner? 2) assuming 14x7 gets it done, would 18x3 for first three years and 11 for last 4 years be reasonable?

They can always front load it, would depend on how much their real $ cap is internally I’m not sure if/how much a team can pay a player per year though.

They could sign him to a 4 or 5 year max contract.

Reichel + for Anders Lee
Marners rights to Toronto for 2026 2nd

Bertuzzi-Bedard-Marner

No thanks on Lee

About to turn 35 yrs old and already showing decline in recent years

Also, this team isn't an Anders Lee away from playoffs so giving up anything valuable for him makes no sense
Hes playing much better than last year... hes got 44 points and 24 goals in 63 games with only a year left on his deal. He can spot start with our skilled players in the top 6 for a year and see if you want him back for another after that.

Reichel doesnt have room on this team anymore. Hes a good buy for the need to get younger islanders.

Bedard
Teravainen
Bertuzzi
Dickinson
Mikheyev
Slaggert
Dach
Foligno
Veleno
2025 1st

Thats 10 guys with no free agents and not counting Donato. Might as well get the better player for a year before he gets pushed out.

Veleno shouldn’t be on the team either.

Why exactly are we to expect 2025 1st to play? Our 2024 1st (2nd overall) didn't join Hawks until March

Veleno is likely to be buried or bought out in offseason

Hawks also need a C not a winger as priority in offseason

Honestly at this point with D situation one of our young defenders is probably best trade chip

We got a bit of a crwoded field here

Vlasic
Del Mastro
Kaiser
Korchinski
Allan
Levshunov (R)
Crevier (R)

DM, Allan and Kaiser have all played RD in past

Veleno buyout or buried according to who ?

Misa Schaefer will go straight to the NHL. Hagens Im not sure.

Yea we would like a center sure. There arent any free agents at center that would come here and are worth it. Granlund maybe?

Guessing
Nelson goes to the Wild or stays in Denver
Giroux retires or Ottawa
Bennett contender will pay him
Tavares stays in Toronto.

Schaefer has missed most of the year, is a D and is one of the youngest players in the draft (he will turn 18 like a month before opening night). I would be pretty shocked if he jumps straight into the NHL beyond a 9-game teaser. Misa is probably the best bet to go straight to the league but I wouldn't be surprised if he goes to the NCAA either.

Martone and Hagens aren't ready for the NHL. Hagens will go back to BC and Martone can't go to the AHL, I imagine he will either return to the O or pursue an NCAA opportunity.

I wouldn't count out Gajan quite yet. Yes his numbers are bad - quite bad but he's come on strong since returning from injury. And if you look at some of his tape, he's capable of doing incredible things.

The defensemen situation is very crowded. I can't see Martinez being brought back or a new old guy taking his place. I also think Brodie will be made to go away whether it's bought out, mutual termination, waived, traded for future considerations. Basically time for Vlasic to be a "veteran" amongst the group even though he's only 24 next season. Murphy will likely start the year with the Hawks but could be a trade candidate.

If it is Misa I wouldn’t be shocked if he walks on from both his skill position and the hawks need for a center.

Can’t players from the CHL now sign with the NCAA and then immediately give up their eligibility and take a NHL contract thus allowing them to play in the AHL instead of being sent back to the CHL?

Michael Misa - Connor Bedard - Mitch Marner (13 x 7)
Ryan Donato - Matt Duchene (10 x 2) - Frank Nazar
Teuvo Teravainen - Lukas Reichel - Ilya Mikheyev
Tyler Bertuzzi - Jason Dickinson - Nick Foligno
Joe Veleno
Landon Slaggert
Colton Dach

Alex Vlasic - Louis Crevier
Ethan Del Mastro - Artyom Levshunov
Kevin Korchinski
- Connor Murphy
Wyatt Kaiser
Nolan Allan
TJ Brodie

Spencer Knight
Arvid Soderblom

I was just wondering this when someone posted about Martone going to the AHL next year and I was about to correct them. Seems like a huge loophole but not sure what could stop it from happening?

CBA provision relates to what league players are drafted out of

I wonder if Martone would go play college hockey. Try to make it onto a NHL lineup and go play college hockey if he doesnt.
I do think CHL players drafted that are in that category of too good for Juniors but not good enough for the NHL would pursue that. Like I'll bet Korchinski would have done that for sure if it were an option. But I don't think you'd be eligible for college once you've put on an NHL uniform.

but if goes and commits to a college in the summer he can go to training camp to try to make it no?

He can certainly have a chat with the team that drafts him and get a sense for how they envision his situation playing out next year, but if he signs an ELC and attends an NHL training camp he'd be ineligible for the NCAA, at least under present rules.
