2025-26 NTDP U17 Team Selection

Nationals will conclude this Sunday, so I'd expect the team to be named on Monday.

NZ has a nice report on the camp. Meyer, Easton Johnson and Fredy Schnieder were the top performers. Apparently, Pelosi did not have a good showing whatsoever, but he made the team based on his pedigree.
"Pedigree." :D Although he is in the top of the birth year he has been getting outplayed in tournaments and camps by other kids this past year. Anyway, shame Scuds and Yakub didn't make the team.

Pretty well much.....but his showing at camp was somewhat shocking to many in attendance as they expected more. Perhaps he's a player who has peaked early and will soon (has) be passed by many.

He has been regressing since last year and if you truly studied his game I think you could see concerning cracks in ceiling potential, at the moment in time he is really just a benefactor to the early social media hype train. Nevertheless, Pelosi still a solid player who deserves to be there. Just not top of his birth year any more and I'm willing to bet it will be proven when NTDP season is up and running.

I have heard rumblings minnesota dmen carson scott, easton johnston, ben geiger and beck thoreson made the team
I just mentioned Johnson and Scott making the team in my above post. I was never told #7 or #8 because they were still undecided. I've heard good things about Thoreson recently although he didn't stand out at u15 camp. I dont know much about Geiger but I know very little about Minnesota kids in general and he wasn't at Natty camp so no chance to view him.

I'm surprised Roscoe isn't in the mix for the combination of size and skating, and pretty good skill.

from youthhockeyhub which is a mn youth based site on thoreson who I think is very good:

"The hulking Thoreson is a junior or Divison I coach's dream - big, smart, fast, and physical. As a lynchpin of a stout Moorhead blueline, Thoreson's tough to miss on the ice, listed at 6-foot-3, 170 pounds.

In addition to his physicality, Thoreson is one of the state's best puck-moving defensemen. In 23 games tracked by GameSheet this season, Thoreson has 24 assists and 29 points, for an average of 1.26 points per game from the backend."

Moorhead smoked shattucks bantam team 5 times this season. Crazy for a public youth program

Moorheads bantam team is the same as the Blue Ox which is here at Nationals. They're 2-0 so far and are advancing. They beat the Minutemen yesterday (4 seed) pretty handily. They're real good. J Cullen is really, really good. Dozark too and Buttweiler.

Oh so that Blue Ox team is basically the Moorhead Bantam AA team? Didn't see them yet so I did not know that. That's like how the Eastern Mass Penguins is really the Cushing Academy New England Prep team in the 18U Nationals.

Yes, but the crazy difference is they are a city public youth program, not a private school. Although, i'm sure a kid or two has moved to moorhead recently if you get where i'm going with that.. haha.

Yep. I compared the rosters. Same team. I can't believe that one community can produce this team.
