2025-26 NTDP U17 Team Selection

Notable missing players: Jackman, Santa Maria, Dicunzolo, Yakub, Berard, Tracy.

Surprised to see Barch and Tang. Two guys who seemed dead set on CHL.
Some high-profile Minnesota kids not there as well...Ryland Rooney, Max Dessner, Caden Zasada.

Also no Thad McMahon out of Chicago, saw him pretty high on a couple of prediction lists.

Caiden Pellegrino not getting an invite is surprising. Had 41 points in 29 games in his first year in Prep. Very, very good player. Joe Covelluzzi of Cushing not getting an invite is another one that has me scratching my head, although he was injured late in the season so perhaps that has something to do with it.

I've seen Covelluzi with Sears and Meyer. I thought he was better than Pandolfo - although that was last year.

Based on whom I've seen, Id love to see the following make the team so I can easily follow their careers.

FORWARD
Pelosi
Scuderi
Sears
Meyer
Fitzhenry
Grubb
Schneider
Daley
Milojevic
McKinney
Pape

DEFENSE
Semetsis
Gutierrez
Geiger
Roscoe

GOALIE
Chizik
Winters

We won't find out until about halfway through next year whether some of these snubs people are mentioning were actually looking to go elsewhere or they aren't as good as the fans on this website think.

There's no real way to know until then. Of course these players not at the camp will go other routes, but whether that's because they were forced due to not being invited or they wanted to go elsewhere and told the NTDP to shove it, none of us are going to know that.

The only way to really have any type of clue (and it's never going to be complete information on what happened) is to look how they do once they hit junior, and then we'll get an idea of who is good and who isn't.

No Brody Berard?? I've seen some lists that had him a lock to make the team....
Surprised him and Yakub didn't get invited, but neither were locks. Semetsis went into this season as the #3 D on that Mount team and by year end he was #1. USA Hockey likes to see progression and he showed it. I would be surprised if he is left off this team as he seems like a prototypical USA dman. Great both ways and very good on his feet.
Daley's side kick in Florida.

Agreed on both. I said it before but Pellegrino has so much Johnny Gaudreau in his game. Tiny player but finds a way to score at every level he plays at. Tough to see him in any other role than top 6 on this team, which will be an extremely hard top 6 to crack.

I think Pelosi, Scuderi, Sears, Meyer, Fitzhenry, Schneider, Daley, Milojevic, McKinney are locks at F. The D is far more up in the air but again I have a hard time seeing Semetsis, Gutierrez and Roscoe left off this team. Goalies are too tough to evaluate but Chizik seems to be the #1 at this age group.

Elijah Hayes being left off isn't too surprising with he likely being a heavy O lean like his brothers.

Interested to see if Bergeron makes this roster

Good player but not widely regarded among the top 25-30 forward prospects so not surprising he did not garner an invite.

The two big notable omissions for me are Landon Jackman and Kaden Aucoin. Jackman is certainly among the top forwards in the country and Aucoin should have earned, at the very least, an invite.

There were a few players from that Little Caesars team that were deserving of an invite. LC being a part of OHL Cup along with a former OHL'er as their head coach likely swayed some decisions.

Yup...Kage Flory comes to mind, on the smaller side for a D but oozes skill.

Aucoin's snub is perplexing though. A big right shot D, from the Chicago Mission team and who has massive pro upside should have earned an invite, even if he is thinking about playing in the O.

Is Aucoin not a dual citizen?

Saw the game on Friday. Lots of fun.

Blue team
Scuderi scored first goal. Typical Scuderi game, quick decisions. Aggressive. Good shot.
Milojevic - I can see why he's rank3d so highly. Good skater. Fast. Good puck control. Had the team's 2nd and 3rd goals.
Semetsis definitely belongs at this level. Great skater. Good decisions. Calm.
McArthur was solid on D.
Some kids I was unfamiliar with who impressed...
Timmerman from LC. I only saw the one game so far, but if he doesn't make the team I'll be surprised. Best D out there.
Kane Barch. Such a good skater. Quick. Aggressive. A little selfish at times but that's okay sometimes.
Thoreson - really impressed. Good skater. Big kid. Solid on O and D. I hear he was almost a 2010 by 2 days.
Freddy Schneider should make this team too.

Red team
Daley had a hattrick (eng). Worked really well with Meyer.
Grubb scored first goal.
Carson zScott had a goal
Pelosi was solid and really set up his teammates well. Had a few assists.
Never saw Finn Spehar before but I was impressed. Really fast. Small side.
Burcar is really impressive too. His skating is better than most and he has a good handle too.

Lots of kids playing even minutes so it was tough to stand out in one game. Some kids who I was excited to watch that didn't stand out...
Fitzhenry
Roscoe
Guttierez
Geiger
Sears
Pandolfo

The goalies played pretty well. Hard to pick one. I'd think Chizik is in and maybe Johnson.
