It will be more intersting on this age group how many high end kids chose CHL over ntdp . The drafts coming up for really first time for Americans will be great to watch because you know CHL teams and big Agents are talking .
Yes it will be interesting to see who goes which route. In my opinion we will still see a majority going to NTDP to play their 16 year old season

I think Fitzhenry and Grub are possibles from SSM at F. Roscoe, Gutierrez, and Dessner on D.

From Mount there is Pelosi, Scuderi (one of my favorites), Gualberto at F. Maybe even Cover. Berard and Yakub on D. Chizik could make the team as well.

Folks have covered Boston Jr Eagles. Sears is a lock IMO, but Meyer, Pandolfo, and Covelluzii are excellent.

Some random names are Trevor Daley who should make the team. Milojevic who left Daley in FL for the Mission.

What do folks think of Pape from the Pens? Seems to get better throughout the seasons.

Freddie Schneider has a great chance.

Seems like a great class but we'll see.

Fitzhenry, Pelosi, Scuderi, Meyer, Sears, Daley seem like locks at F if they plan to go NTDP. Daley Sr. went the OHL route and Jr was an odd omission at the festival over the summer.

Sung, Grubb, Dicunzolo from SSM, Milojevich, Cooper from Chicago area, Jackman from LC, Schneider and Rooney from MN. Are all players that are likely to get invited to try out.

That is a loaded forward crop if they all go that route. D is more of a mixed bag and there is probably 10-12 that could be considered.

Carter Meyer would be the first son of an NTDP alum to make it.
I finally got to see Rivers play a few weeks ago and I was very impressed with Sears, Meyer, and Pandolfo. I wouldn't be shocked if all of them made the NTDP team. Although Rivers lost and only scored 1 goal (Pandolfo), that line was buzzing the entire game and went up against Brunswick, who seems to always be an Elite 8 team that is loaded with talent. It's a very deep year in Massachusetts with kids who could challenge to make the U17 team. Some other players to keep an eye on are Caiden Pellegrino (St. Mark's) and Noah Survilas (Dexter). I'll get a chance to see Survilas in person in a few weeks.

For those who follow more closely, who is the best player of this crop currently? Pelosi, Fitzhenry, DiCunzolo, Sears or someone else?

Pelosi is generally regarded as being the best of the bunch right now. There is a premiere U16 tournament going on right now, the Oakville Rangers Winter Classic, that he is participating in. Most leagues in Ontario don't publish boxscores with player names, so you can just see team results.

I'd argue that Fitzhenry is the best right now. Kid is absolutely crushing it playing a year up. No 2009 American is doing what he is doing this season.

DiCunzolo is another player that some like better than Pelosi but they play different styles of hockey so will come down to eye test or preference.

I like Fitzhenry and Pelosi quite a bit more than Dicunzolo. Sung is amazing but the size is still the ?. There are a few kids under the radar because they’re not in major markets that I think have the potential to be the best forward in the class.

Fitzhenry and Pelosi are the top of the class at this point but there are a solid 10 or so players that aren’t far behind.

I know it’s way too early to really make a call on this but it feels like a “buzzier” year than the 2007 and 2008 groups.

Or am I just doing that thing where you prescribe more hype to mystery boxes…? :D
The 2009 crop of Americans looks to be really strong at this point

I have no actual opinion on any of the players, but it does feel that way.
