TRADE DETAILS
To Ottawa:
6th-round pick in the 2028 OHL Priority Selection (OSH)

To Brantford:
Rights to Chase Petrova (G)

Good deal for Ottawa. Getting a 6th round pick for an 18 year old goalie picked in the 7th round who hasn’t played any minutes above JrB is very good.

It also shows they are not concerned about filling a backup role this year if Fetterolf doesn’t return.

Honestly they need to have a backup plan (literally) in case Fetterolf does not return to Ottawa, I do have doubts that Jaeden Nelson is ready or capable to be a reliable number 1 goalie, he had a good record last year no doubt about it, but as a starter, he might cave under pressure

He has the pedigree and has performed at a high level at the CCHL level as a 16 year old.

He has one weakness and that is he tends to lose his net moving around a bit much but he has improved that tremendously. Ironically, that is where Fetterolf was really strong.

Nelson has a tendency of making the big save but letting in a bad goal. Hard to stomach but that’s junior hockey for ya!
