It makes us a lot better either way. Can't shrug off a player like that due to other holes in the roster.

With trade values and contracts actually being considered I would rather go after Marchenko than Werenski.

Yeah, the whole thing is nuts. But if his name is out there enough that teams are pausing on Carlson, it's real. I think we would throw the entire future at Werenski, but so would other teams. But maybe if he had protection that allowed him to narrow the teams down, we could compete.

I mean, the Wings would give Larkin ++ if Werenski were willing to go there. Toronto might give up Knies and have arguably the best top pair in the league. Moser would he our best roster player, but I'm not sure if we could add enough to compete, even with teams he'd sign off on. Very rare for a player like this, at this age, to come up.

Yeah, but Moser, at 25, who's a 1 or 2 signed long term for middle pair money has a lot of value. Moser + James + Geekie/SOR is a strong package. Or Moser + Geekie/James/SOR + '28 1st.

Moser's contract is very valuable to a team like CBJ. I don't know if we can compete with other top offers, but Moser would make any team stop and think. He's a very valuable player.

Insiders always seem to hype it up every year, and it never delivers. Not another single trade could be made and I don’t think there have been moves like this since the Subban/Weber and Hall/Larsson year
