Speculation: 2025-2026 Offseason Thread 4 - all these trades and all we got was this lousy thread!

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
Yeah, I think you're right. I've scrolled through this account and it seems to basically just aggregate roster moves after they're made. Nothing speculative. I wonder where this is coming from

Edit: Also, correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that there's no limit to the number of players you can have on your roster in the offseason (or anytime past the trade deadline). So I don't see any reason for Meneghin to have been demoted internally in late June.
USports/Europe seems like the most likely explanation for this time of year.

Orlando likes to present itself as primarily a development team, but chose to play Jon Gillies at pretty much every opportunity last season, so I'm not sure if Meneghin would be able to get the ice time in Orlando.

The way the coaches coach, it implies that winning is extremely important, but management doesn't seem to have any great urge, or that dawg in them to actually make winning the priority.

I mean if by cooking we're talking about us throwing assets to trade for a dude whos gonna be there July 1st anyway, then holy shit
I read that as the reason nobody interested in Carlson has gotten his rights is because they are looking at other things. Which kind of means that JBB is poking around at something or someone

Columbus is loading up to keep Werenski and Marchenko happy y'all. Both aint leaving
Marchenko doesn't even have trade protection and hasn't requested a trade. They don't even want to trade him. You could be right about Werenski, but I would think that Marchenko or Kent Johnson are outtie

Deadline moves. Not sure how I would feel about JBB keeping assets/cap will the deadline, just to get in bidding wars for someone like this.

Since when did Garnet Hathaway become a good player? 😂
He's good with his role. If you think he's a player to score 20/30 goals is a mistake. He's a pest, hits hard and drop the gloves some players play a different role and is the great part of the sport. The problem is having and defend a player like Bjorkstrand in the 4th line doing nothing and making ton of money.
