Speculation: 2025-2026 Offseason Thread 3 -subtitle traded for a 5th round pick

Back to Andersson vs. Trouba vs. Carlson vs. Raddysh -- all three of the alternatives are probably going to be making similar money (i.e., over $6M per). This team needs the best roster it can put together now. Saving a few bucks swapping one of them out for Raddysh could work, but is that the best bet to take? And what if all three go to other teams and Raddysh goes too? Tough questions.
 
Even with trading Paul, which is certainly no given this summer, Tampa can't throw 8 or 9 million at Raddysh and still expect to make significant F adds. There certainly is no money left for Tuch at that aav for Raddysh, and it would be very close with Larkin (as well as filling out the other spot or two). I'd give Raddysh more term, but the aav needs to stay around 7 for JBB to realistically address the F group. If he trades for a player such as Trocheck or Tippett, for example, that would clarify the cap situation in regards to Raddysh, but if he is going to after Tuch or Larkin, the space isn't there for some bloated Raddysh deal. He's the biggest gambler, boom/bust player in ufa, and I don't see JBB going that high due to one season.

If Trouba is cheap and low term he'd be a good 3rd pair guy for us that brings some size and grit

Still, just liked the way he played with Moser. Having a great first pairing is kind of a necessity to be a contender, and I really don't think I love the idea of Moser with any of the FA RHD class. If there is a trade to be made somewhere, I'll reserve my judgment, but I think we take a real step back if Raddysh walks

Andersson is probably staying in Vegas when they move the LTIR Pietrangelo money.

Otherwise he's not a bad Raddy replacement. The other two are big downgrades considering we need an RD1 not a 3rd pair guy.

Raddysh was never great defensively either before this season, and playing with Moser certainly helped that. There are several more established d-men who could be available, and so while I'm sure JBB would prefer to keep Raddysh, if he's going to pay a higher aav and give term, he may prefer to ultimately do that with a player with more than one year of success.

I'm not really sure about Andersson but it certainly could work. Sentiment on him seems to have soured, though. He was supposed to have been a lot better in Vegas than he was. Made some bad plays that led to goals in the final.

I don't even know if he's that great defensively, but him and Moser together as a pairing just works. Even if the PP magic fades, that's a great defensive pair. I feel like it's probably worth it to see it play out, but who knows if JBB agrees.

Would be so sick if the Bolts made a trade that indicated what the hell is going on in the front office today. Won't happen, but would be cool.
 
Feels like it’s UFA dman or bust.

No chance we have the assets to acquire a Raddysh replacement AND a top 6 center - which seems to be the plan.

I was all in on Andersson as a trade option last year, but he was awful with Vegas, not sure I would touch that if he made free agency.

Just suck it up and risk it with Raddysh - not many better options. I would love for him to find the next Jordan Spence, but that’s not JBBs style.

No clue why Nashville is adding. They should be stripping down from the studs. They’re nowhere near being serious contenders and have some valuable trade pieces that could net some big returns that could make a rebuild pretty quick.

Unless the plan is to try and flip him for more at the deadline.
