Congratulations to Czechs on their Bronze Medal. Holy crap, Kokko really helped Finland choke this game away. Fins completely dominated Czechs, but Czechs kept hanging around.

Czechs scored 3 PPGS, a SHG, a 6 on 5 goal (net empty), one ESG (the game winning goal, which was an awful goal by Kokko) then 2 empty net goals. Unreal.

when will teams learn that playing soft, laidback, defensive hockey when they have the lead is recipe for disaster?

6v5 with a 1 goal lead and they weren’t pressuring the puck at all, it was bound to happen.

Ridiculous choke job. But Kokko looked ready to choke it away in the second half of the third. Even the saves he made were shaky. Very sloppy last 10 minutes from Finland, last 5 minutes specially. Completely un finland like. They stopped skating and lost all team structure.

Just wondering...for whoever wants people to eat some crow about Mesar because of this WJC....do we still have the right to prefer Kulich based on the same tournament? :D

Yes. I mean so many of us wanted Kulich. I still don't understand that pick from Montreal. I like Mesar, but Kulich's shooting arsenal is sexy.

Mesar might have been there at Beck's pick, but then we don't have Beck.

So Kulich and Beck or Mesar
vs Beck & Mesar over Kulich.

IDK. I guess we'll see.

Even if Beck isn't there....Kulich and Luneau or Sapovaliv or Nyman.

Rymon had a nice tournament too. He'll be 20 next draft not sure if still available but if he will then it's the kind of guys you can go for in the later rounds.

He's still eligible, like Becher this is his final year. Both would be good lower round picks. If they don't get drafted, they'll become amateur free agents. I imagine both get signed.

As far as the US goes...I never imagined that Fowler had so many chances to shine and didn't take the opportunity. BUt it's a great experience for him nonetheless.

Yeah, Nyman was a real target for me at that draft. I was hoping he'd be there at the Hutson pick, but nope. We would have to have taken him at the Beck pick.

That 2022 draft was a really deep one though. One of the deepest ones I can recall. A lot of good players are going to come out of that 2nd round.

I really wanted us to grab more 2nd & 3rd round picks in that draft. We needed one more of both.
