Just had a teenager show up at my door offering to shovel my walk. He was wearing shorts and running shoes. There’s something terribly wrong with the youth lol. Also massive parenting fail.
On the other hand you have to applaud his willingness to do the work. In my neighborhood you never see kids shoveling snow. EVER.

Ok I'm done now. Did six rounds and the driveway is clear as can be.

In regards to that teenager. I find kids care way less and have no pride in appearance these days

You got that mop haircut that's popular that just hangs down over their face for guys

I see sooo many kids wearing sandals, pajamas, and sweatshirts out and about

Its about the same effort they put into their school work

This is something said about every new generation by the previous generation since the beginning of time.

Just flew in to Edmonton today through Calgary. With this much snow in Waterloo the main roads would be plowed clean within a couple of hours and backstreets by the morning. I had forgotten how adverse to plowing the City of Edmonton really is.
Up to 14 days they take to clean off all roads. Clock reset if it snows again. This is their standard designed to mean they never or rarely get to some roads. Of course bike lanes here in the hinterland are somehow a number 1 clearing priority. You wouldn't miss living here. We get worse services in exchange for more property tax.

Isn’t Waterloo like a village compared to Edmonton?

I own a house in Edmonton. The services here are generally terrible compared with what we get in KW and taxes are higher relative to home prices. My taxes in Edmonton are about 50% higher relative to the value of my home compared to my place in Waterloo.

I suspect that you did not grow up in the 60's and 70's. :)

That tax info is interesting, my buddy lives 'down the road' from you in the Leamington area. Taxes are pretty good there too. And can't really beat the weather either.

The COE spends a lot of money on fixing the world schemes and environmental concerns out of its control "ending homelessness" and bike schemes. Goes out of its lane lots. Just look up Blatchford development for a hint at everything this city gets wrong.

And he probably gets all the tomatoes he can eat and tobacco he can smoke…
I see you look at Ketchup bottles and tomato cans as well. Leamington Ontario. Never been there but first association I have with the place. heh I never smoked so I didn't know tobacco is grown there. Proud to say I've never bought a pack of cigarettes or a can of tobacco in my life. Can't stand the stuff.

With how little snow we had last year, I wouldn't be shocked if this winter made up for it.

This is all you need to know about the COE to know they have a spending problem.

3 pages to list their leadership team. Most publicly traded Fortune 500 companies can do it in fewer pages.

They should rename their wards again. That will save some money…

I usually chose Perch but if it was a relatives catch I had it but can't recall it. Had walleye too. All good there.

Peely Point is the most southern location in Canada.
Peely Point. Is that the area that is actually “south” of Detroit? I don’t know geography well for that area but I was led to believe that Detroit has an area that is north of Canadian territory. Odd.
