You have all lost your minds. It’s not about being “slow” it’s about building a good team. If we trade for MG and it’s 29++ as most people are saying, what does that leave us out of the 2025 Draft? Let’s just say it’s the 1st and the 3rd. That leaves us with a late second and a 4th and 3 7ths? It’s simply not smart for us to basically forego an entire draft class so we can have a 29 year old defensive end.

Mack, Miller, JJ Watt etc etc etc. Heck, Bruce Smith! The “freaks” don’t last well into their 30s. The cupboard is bare of young talent. If you want to make a splash, use free agency where at least we have the cap room. We simply don’t have the draft capital to swing for the fences on MG after the Lattimore trade and making the NFCCG. It’s simple math. It won’t happen and it shouldn’t unless we can get him for way less than what John Q. Public is expecting.

I’m not as smart as Peters but you guys are going full Snyder here. It’s a little surprising to be honest.

You crazy ripened fruit lol…..;)…….way off.

I would pursue Garrett aggressively. To offset Bananas' good point about not giving up too much capital in any one year, I would offer them 1st this year/2nd next year along with Jonathan Allen (that way the Commies still have two top 100 picks this year). Browns could then either keep Allen or flip him for another pick.

Why? He's not a rental, and he fits in the early JD window perfectly. Further, he's an elite player. You'd have to have a top 12 pick to even have a realistic chance of drafting a player like him. And yes, he's 29. The top 10 in sacks this year includes multiple 30 year old and a 33 year old. Cameron Jordan is another recent example of a defensive player who remained highly productive through age 33.

It's a bit risky, but the payoff would be huge. Garrett would instantly make the defense better in all three phases. He's the sort of guy who can take over an entire game, and he's the sort of guy that keeps offensive coordinators up at night.

Id love a game changer at end

Id settle for a edge setter run stopper on a good value contract ... a Zaven Collins type at 2/14M would be ideal

Going to be a fun offseason ... cap room to add some impact starters, FAs want to be here

I don't know why anyone really think's we're just one player away from the Super Bowl. Being one game away isn't the same as one player away. We were an entire roster away from beating the Eagles, not one player. We need 5 or 6 more game breaker type of players, not just one. To get 5 or 6 more of those players we need to maximize the draft or find them in free agency. But trading 3-4 draft picks for 1 player makes it harder to fill the whole roster. A roster that is currently held together with duct tape and bungy cords.

JD may not survive again to make another NFC Championship game without a much better OL. And I'm not sure one player, albeit a good one, is going to stop the Eagles from scoring, *checks note* fifty five f***ing points on us. We need DBs, DTs, DEs, OTs, WRs, RBs. We still have a TON of holes, not matter how well the stars aligned for us the January. One DE can be game planned around. A superior 11 man lineup (on either side of the ball) cannot be game planned for. Cleveland never won shit with MG wreaking so much havoc. The Chiefs and Eagles don't have hall of fame DE's on their rosters. They are just much more complete teams than we are.

Stop Snydering. This was always a long game, to compete for titles year after year, not just one year.

Oh come on, ksd. No one is Snydering. That’s insulting!

Garrett is a monster. If the team had to trade 1st and a 2nd and a player (Allen), then I think that’s a no brainer. Garrett’s cost is washed out by Allen’s departure, so they’d still have a LOT of salary cap space.

Go sign a Stanley at OT. Coleman moves to RT, and Wylie is sent packing (saving 10m there, too). Need another RG, because Cosmi injury, but the O-line would be markedly better. As would the D-Line. Bring back Wagner, sign another UFA for depth, they’d be cooking.

Kinda similar to what they just did. Mash a bunch of “professionals” together, get after it.

Don’t make up fake scenarios….nobody said we’re one player away and nobody said you can’t draft well with remaining assets and sign impact players in the offseason.

We have a ton of cap, and JD has everyone in the NFL looking at DC as a destination.

The NFL no longer moves as slow as you’re suggesting Dave. Teams can turn it around quickly. Nothing being suggested is for a one year glory run. It’s to build around a special player and to put him in a better position to succeed before we have to pay him $65 mil a year.

You call it Snydering, I could respond you’re Mike Brown’ing, just sitting on your hands wasting a young QB’s prime. Let’s both do neither and stop insulting everyone with the Snyder BS.

PS - we are not an entire roster from beating Philly.
