He hadn’t released the ball at that point, so no that was one of his 3 poorly thrown gimme TDs. And the “you can do better” argument is stupid, I mean John Beck could do better than me too, does that mean he didn’t deserve criticism? When you have a guy that wide open make sure it’s a catch first and foremost. Err farther if the coverage is tight.
The "you can do better" is more on the "everybody sucks" theme of all your posts. When all you do is criticize, it renders the vast majority of it moot. Complaining that the QB overthrew or underthrew the shots and almost cost us the game when the receiver should have caught the second and could have caught the third -- which also should have been called PI because the defender threw his arm in early and never looked for the ball -- is tiresome.

Find something good. Something. About anybody. Post it. Just try it once. It'll make you feel good.

This is sketch. Also that bogus 2nd roughing the passer on Fowler.
Between the clock running out at the end of the third and nobody blowing the whistle and the bullshit that gave NO that last play, the Superdome clock operator needs to be fired and the team fined by the league. And the entire officiating crew needs to be docked or demoted and kicked in the nuts.

That is integrity of the game stuff that the league cannot let slide.

(And both roughing calls were BS -- especially the second. That's the crap that makes old-heads like me go off about the old days when men were men, a smoke was a smoke, and QBs were actually considered to be football players, not crystal figurines that needed to be protected like the King's daughter's virginity.)

Ironically, NO. They are only 5-4 in one score games. 4-1 otherwise.

This should NOT have been a one score game. Was a poorly played game pretty much across the board. Really really poor 2nd half. Like abysmal.

BUT, they won. That’s all that matters.

9-5 and and in a decent spot ATM.
Interesting. It always seems close when it shouldn’t be. I guess we won more by ore than 7 (or 8) than i thought. Those games shouldn’t have been as close as they were. We won one on a Hail Mary. Should have tied a second and that could have gone our way but an L.

But we are 9-5. Overachieved. Will be another large turnover this summer (in a good way). I trust.

The running game was a big fail today. Saints were giving up 5 YPC coming into today. Overall we averaged 3.9 -- but that's because JD had 11 for 66. Our RBs had 24 carries for 71 yards.

Hopefully this is just an indicator that Badass is the straw that stirs the running game drink, and he's better by next week. If not, I'd prefer we play Mariotta because the QB is going to be ground beef.

(I also hope we get an officiating crew that doesn't show up to the stadium in 3.5-foot high bus and wearing funny wigs and enormous red shoes.)

Howell somehow looked worse than last year. Thanks for the pick, dummies.

Also worth noting that Peters passed on Cooper, Lassiter, DeJean, and Payton Wilson to take Johnny Newton. Which looks bad at the moment.

KK and JD had great games .with having some reliable pieces taken away .. back to some patented spread offense out of shotgun .. if 1st look wasnt there, JD had room and open space to go off schedule. Almost like "off schedule" was his second read.

No Ertz shows = not as much move the stick, TE sits down in soft zone plays

No Ekeler shows = not as much screens and "get ball to speedy in guy in space"plays

TOP was 40:50 to 19:10

----------------------

Just enjoying the ups and downs .. fun Sunday .. next season we roll

-------------

Chinn and Ertz out w concussions ..

How many teams passed on Sainristil and Coleman?

You're never going to bat 1.000. Also, there's a good chance Newton is a full-time starter next year (Allen or Payne traded for cap space).

Payton Wilson was the 98th pick, tons of teams passed on him many times. Hindsight is always 20/20 my friend, and grading a draft before year one is finished is premature.

Honest question though, what sort of winning percentage on transactions (draft picks, trades, free agents) are you expecting? Peters has done, overall, a tremendous job building a competitive team out of an absolute dumpster fire, in one season. What more are you expecting? It sounds like anything less than perfection from the GM is unsatisfactory. It never works that way in real life.
