I don’t know man. The way Romo described it the play was an RPO based on whether a certain defender blitzed or not. How the OL on the other side of the guy the decision is keyed off of is supposed to know which one it is I have no idea. But Cosmi’s first step or two seemed like run blocking ones.
Sure it is unfortunate it would have been for a TD but that seems like a complicated play to try to block and not mistakenly get too far downfield.
The fact that he tried fo quickly stop himself (albeit too late) fells me he knew. I’m sure they have something built into the play so they know. My take is that he was overzealous in trying to sell the run. Which again goes back to the lack of composure, discipline, what we’ve you want to call it.
This isn’t a new issue with this o-line (and TEs to some extent).
And once again, an o-lineman, granted a backup.
