He may be one of the worse base runners in the Jays history. I've coached kids with more base running sense than him. He literally killed that inning all by himself. He may have all the physical tools but he thinks the game terribly. Tired of watching Jays with zero baseball sense.

The bullpen gave up 12 runs. Yikes! What a disaster.
He killed that inning. They might have scored a couple of more runs and that could have made the whole game different. But that's the way she goes sometimes.

Yanks have been shaky so when they made it 7-5 I thought they'd have a chance to come back. Then came more of the BP. Ugh.

So much for the Rogers media thought that the team might be turning the corner after consecutive 9-run games and Springer having himself a day.
This team is in trouble. Will be very interesting to see what happens in the next month here. Instead of Vladdy and Bo being signed long-term here, both have spoken about trade possibilities involving themselves in the last couple days. What a disaster this is becoming.

Shocked at how bad the pitching staff has cratered this year. I thought they would take a slight step back but this is falling into a crater and then falling into a crater inside the crater. If Atkins keeps his job into next year, I'm done with this team, I hear Boston is an up and comer. For me it's not that this team lacks skill because they do, it's that they lack executing on the fundamentals of the game and their farm system sucks. The franchise, since Atkins and Shapiro came, seem to think trading prospects every year for marginal players is going to right the ship and their draft history has been abysmal. So trade the few good assets that we have and then suck at drafting.... is not a recipe for a good pro team.
He does that a lot though, how many times have we seen Vladdy try to stretch a single into a double or a double into a triple or be overly aggressive on the basepaths and then be called out and he is sitting there waiving his hand in the air asking for a video review ... when everyone in the stadium knows he is out but him. I think he thinks he is Usain Bolt... you can't, just can't make those elementary school mistakes on the basepaths, esp this team that struggles to score and hit, you can't give free outs. Every player makes the occasional mistake but he, as a rule, will do that a couple times a month. I think this team wants to be an aggressive small ball, defence first, post to post team. When you lack execution, you can't be a good small ball team. Some players on our team are just not built to play that game.
Out of curiosity I waned to see where Vlad ranks in terms of base path speed, he ranks in the bottom 2% for base Running Value and for Sprint Speed 54%. For Base Running Value the only way you can be worse than Vlad is if you are a cement statue. The sprint speed is not terrible but very middle of the road, which should tell the team, Vlad will never have the green light to make his own decisions on the basepaths. It's not that he is uber slow, he just really really really bad at deciding what to do on the basepaths. Base running is as much of an art and skill as hitting or fielding, either you got it or you dont, he does not.

Yeah they couldnt run him out anymore. In other bullpen news, Jordan Romano has been shut down due to continued elbow discomfort and will visit some specialist doctor. I bet we don't see him the rest of the year.

Yeah probably... Curious what happens if its something like TJ where the recovery is more than a year, and he is a free agent. Does he get paid anything after his contract is done, and where does he rehab past his contract?
