I am not making excuses for Atkins. However, let’s say he signed a solid LF. That won’t make a difference when the core group of hitters are significantly underperforming. The starting pitching was set. He did go out and get Rodriguez. Maybe adding another reliever but that still wouldnt make much of a difference.

The fans waited three years for the rebuild which in baseball is great.

The team was on the right path until after the mariners series. I still maintain one of the main problems is the teams hitting philosophy. Mattingly is the biggest problem IMO. Why they brought the same approach back after it didn’t work last year is perplexing.

During the home opener he was booed by the fans, that was a bit imature but maybe management may take note.

It’s a long season but how long does management wait before changes are made. The division is a bloodbath and we don’t want to get too far behind. Probably give it at least a month to see if things get better.

If they are sitting fastball first pitch than it’s really sad. I can’t count the number of times they have watched first pitch strike fastball right down the pipe. They also have missed on so many meatballs, that’s not coaching

Someone needed to be held accountable for the playoff debacle and instead the franchise just acted like nothing unusual happened and have totally lost their credibility and trust from the fanbase as a result.
