it’s not only a bad day for Vladdy and Bo but it’s been a bad season and it’s been a bad few seasons. Maybe they just suck?

Wild pitches for the win. This offense f***ing sucks. Something’s gotta change immediately

Offence looks gross but the Yanks don't look good either lol.

I know exactly what Schneider will do next game. No Ernie, and maybe swap Vlad/Bo in the order.

7K for Kikuchi !

Phew, Green almost blew it after getting 2 quick outs.

that's the game.

Jays back to .500 ball (4-4)

Holy f*** man vlad is so mediocre if that auto strike or ground out.

Clement is their best infielder, atm, and should be the everyday 3B.

1 great season at the plate.
The year he looked physically in shape.

Stroman doing well is another sign "batting" isn't our thing.
IMO.

It sure feels like that's what he'll do. I don't mind moving Vlad and Bo around to see if he can get them going - Bo looks like himself without the results, but Vlad just looks awful.

I think ideally you have Clement at 3B and Schneider at 2B tomorrow. Clement definitely needs to be in the lineup. Schneider probably should be, too, but it's not that hard to justify him being in and out of the lineup for now.

I wouldn't even be against giving Vlad a day off, having Turner at 1B, and Vogelbach at DH. I doubt they give Vlad a day off this early in the season, though.

The good news is they’re 4-4 and the offense really can’t get any worse :dunno:
It is a miracle really, 4-4, 2 of the 4 wins were pathetic displays of offense. And of course were all 4 losses.

so 6 out of 8 were really bad offensively.

It's not the beginning of a great advertisement, that's for sure.
But i'm falling for it because I really want to.

Can't wait for Monday.
Eclipse + Jays = WIN WIN !

If you looked only at the runs scored each game (9, 8, 3, 2, 2, 1, 0, 0) I think most people would be shocked that they're sitting at .500.

As much as we might want better, I don't think you can describe today's game as "pathetic" by the offense... 7 hits and 4 walks is a solid day. Even in the Schneider-HR win they had 8 hits. The scary part is that those two games suffered from some of the same issues as last year where they're constantly threatening and can't capitalize.

Had it not been for the wild pitches, they wouldnt have capitalized on those runners, because they didnt get a hit to drive any of them in the 9th,

in all reality, this should have ended 1-0 and Clement's homer being the only run.

In terms of runs against: 2, 8, 5, 2, 10, 1, 8, 0. Realistically they win 4-5 of those games with a good offence as well. I know they threw the towel a couple of times but regardless the pitching hasn’t been consistent either. They’ve just been playing real crappy baseball and are somehow sitting .500.

You won't win many games when Bo and Vladdy combined have 2 hits in 25 at bats the last three games. Simply unacceptable
remarkable we are 4-4 vs TB, HOU and NYY when your 2 best hitters are doing that. Pretty much everyone is well below their expectations except for Turner, Clement and Biggio. Not to mention Bassitt has been awful too so he will be better and Gausman will not be on pitch count.

Better hitting is coming. Your 2 best relievers are out too and they are coming.

Offense will be a struggle all season but in May or June we will look back and things will level off.

Will Vlad Guerrero ever be good again?

He just needs a better hitting coach. Martinez has been with the club for the past few years as they have had players underperform expectations regularly and I'm not sure why he has such a long leash.

This is my issue. If it was just one or two players underacheiving then you could easily lay the blame on them. But it is the majority of the roster that is struggling at hitting and with a terrible approach. And it almost seems the longer a player is with the club, the worse he seems to be doing (of course for call-ups some of it is the league adjusting to them, but there seems to be struggles to counter-act these adjustments) This to me screams not an individual issue but a systemic one. They needed an over haul of their hitting coaches, but all that was done was a slight re-shuffling.

I like most wasn't a fan of the offseason (why re-sign KK as you also have Varsho and sticking him in LF does reduce his value, and I was for letting the kids duke it out for LF/3rd/2nd if a high end player couldn't be acquired for LF or 3B). But it seems the issues with offense are a team wide thing and until that is addressed, it doesn't really matter who is added.

A change in the hitting coaches/approach is needed. If despite this we still see the mediocre offensive output then that is when I will be confident it is more of a player issue (and will signal the need to rebuild)
