I remember 10 years ago we felt like such an underdog, the DNA and our identity was totally different. Now we are just as good of a program as Canada, if not better in some regards!!!! The skill level is elite! Look at these kids flying around. We deserved it.

Deserved outcome. Not a perfect tourney by any means, but the boys showed up every time it really mattered.

Garbage shit from the Swedes. Diiiirty. Ostlund out there trying to break ankles with slashes and Johansson throwing hands.

It's not always easy to be the heavy favorite in the tournament as this team was after Canada was handicapped by a lot of missing players. It wasn't always pretty but they got the job done and they were clearly the best team at the WJC. When you play 9 games as a team and win all 9, you deserve the gold medal.

Well done and that revenge sure is sweet for a lot of this team.

If Carle wants to return let him run it back. The return coaches haven't always worked out but Carle was fantastic and he'd have 11 of these guys eligible to return. And he's probably not going to be an option very long as he'll be in the NHL before too long.
