US gets the free pass to the Gold medal game without having to play a real team all tournament.

Canada actually got screwed by winning the tournament last year and getting the much harder group.

Oh well we had to beat Sweden again anyways to get Gold just have to do it a round earlier than expected.

Why were the numbers so outrageous at first? Again, Slovakia was +550 last night. Don't the odd makers watch the games?

I guess the oddsmakers know FAR more than I do.

Some guys won't even engage when they don't score ,at least Cowan and minten have been hit

Cowan was fine, he knows his role and plays it. Minten on the other hand I have no idea what the coaching staff sees in him. He’s a penalty killing depth centreman at this level and nothing more. Why he started 3v3 vs the states, plays 1st line and 1st pp minutes I have no idea, the puck dies on his stick on the power play

That was a holding, pretty needless penalty from Warren as the German player was going nowhere. The big calls though have been bad

I think this team still has a lot of talent. Rehpkof is awesome every shift, if we can get Savoie and Geekie back we have more than enough talent.

I have no problem if they call other similar plays that they let go by the Germans, which is why I said questionable not BS call.

Yet, I somehow feel lousy about this team.

Spending too much time reading negativity on the internet.

It’s a solid team through the whole lineup. We get Geekie back, huge plus, Savoie maybe, great. Some of the grinders found their game a little bit better today, and I think our D is steady.

They just seem disjointed offensively. We saw in the pre tournament against the Americans how this team can look when they are clicking....they have yet to find that 3rd period they had against the Americans in the tournament so far. It is there somewhere, but they have to lock into it. Shouldn't be doom and gloom though at all just have to bear down now.

The coaching decisions and terrible call today have made this tournament harder than it should have been for Canada.

Thought Poitras was a lot better today. Signs of life from Dumais and Yager. Minten, I dunno man. Don't understand why he's playing both special teams. Doesn't seem to be much good at either of them.

The defense after Mateychuk is kind of ugly but they held up alright when they keep it simple. Either the Canadian team needs to get a lot better at PKing really fast or they need to be much more disciplined.

Why the reffing is always god awful, the rules are stupid and Canadians always have to play 5 on 6 with refs trying to fans games to the Euros.

Unfortunately, I was right about this on Dec 24th. Assuming we get past Czechia, we will get Sweden in the semis.

We will not lack motivation in this game. By the semis it should be the top four teams anyway. No easy games at this point.
