Good organizations can move on from things that don't evolve the way the day hope and envision, and they can rebound to fix the situation. Bad organizations will double down on a bad decision. Draft picks are valuable. Throwing picks away is a big problem. Did you watch the mid 90s to early 00s Rangers. Throwing picks away thinking every garbage heap player they traded for was the one to put them over.

Teams are built. Not bought. A concept the Rangers can't wrap their heads around ever.

Did Copp, Vatrano, Tarasenko, Kane work? No. How many picks were wasted?

The Rangers don't have a 3rd line center because they throw picks down the toilet and can't develop one themselves. They should have had one waiting for the opportunity to step in after Chytil got hurt. They had absolutely nothing in the system because they throw picks away.

Then people talk about getting Guentzel, they just wasted a 2nd round pick. Now they have to use some other form of collateral.

The problem with this question is that you provide no definition of what 'won' means.
Vatrano for a 4th could easily be considered a win, likewise Goodrow for a 7th (although not the subsequent contract...).
Tyler Motte the 1st time around.
The Georgiev trade was good.
We somehow got a 5th for Reaves, that probably counts as a win
I'd argue that we paid a fair price for Tank/Mikkola
The Wennberg deal seems reasonable up front

Yea, I'm not happy trading Buch for nothing and then going ahead and trading prime assets for Buch. It's ridiculous.
