Guentzel is an elite winger. He would have moved the needle in our favor just by having him on our team and not against us.

He relies on a generational Center.

His numbers without Crosby are below average.

On one end i look at this as we came back from 3-1 vs a team guentzel played on in the playoffs.

Go get buch or vatrano without giving up othmann, perrault or berard and im fine

They probably would have to give up one of Othmann or Berard to get Buch back unfortunately

At this point if Buch is not in the plans than might as well just stand pat. No one else is worth a damn spending a 1st for. Especially any of the rentals and definitely not Vatrano. Go into the playoffs like the rangers usually do, hoping their goaltender can steal them 4 series. Save the assets for the next window that is available with a new core group of players.

Honestly, a Bunting style player is what the first line needs here, not sure where we find the available rw version of that.

Yeah that’s an easy yes, and I like both the prospects. Anyone other than Perreault is on the table for Buch.
