He couldn’t do it in Montreal. I can’t expect him to do it for a Cup contenderWatch Ylonen become a solid top 9 forward with the Bolts haha. Not mad though, it is what it is
- No many cares about a 7th dman- kovacevic trade
- ufa signing today for laval
- slaf/ghule extension
- attempt/non-attempt at ufa todays
- plans for the summer (active on the trade market?)
- invite at rookie development camp?
of course we will mostly get vague answer, but this should be the topics of the day.
Maybe he pulls a DrouinHe couldn’t do it in Montreal. I can’t expect him to do it for a Cup contender

Yeah because what we want to replace is exactly what they give. That’ll make us a better team. Can’t wait to see your plan in fruition.
They want to push forward and improve.CLb is the only eastern team below MTL.
Majority of the East has kicked deck chairs outside of Washington. Whether that makes them better, who knows
I get people want out of a rebuild but today, with who is on the market, isnt that day
Lots of time to shuffle the bottom 6
Unless they get hot early in the season, there’s no doubt we will be at the bottom again.
The division is really competitive. They ended up last by two points, but had a crazy amount of points in OT, top of the league.
In ROW they are 6 wins away from Ottawa. Can’t expect everything to be the same again, but I guess injuries could change the story a bit in the hierarchy of the Atlantic.
Dach not missing 80gamesJust pointing it out where the roster is at the moment...
The Habs current roster scored a total of 205 NHL goals last season (including Barre-Boulet's 6 goals). The Caps scored the fewest in the East with 220 (Habs scored 236 goals fewest in the Atlantic).
Barring additional moves and some impressive growth from ??? would be prepared for another long season.
Hell yeah!On the bright side, it is good to see them avoid some of today's silly contracts.
barely, lmao.Produce at a barely higher pace despite two 100 point linemates?
I really doubt it.Watch Ylonen become a solid top 9 forward with the Bolts haha. Not mad though, it is what it is
Probably another team or two offered better deals. Look, I get the player saying this as he lives in Quebec or may retire in Quebec and for sure has family there.Sarcasm aside, I seriously doubt the Habs offer was comparable to NSH. Habs offers was probably 2-3 years with a higher AAV but less money overall, which kind of matter for a 33 years old signing what is likely his last deal.
Im ok with this experiment if Laine comes via extra cheap contract. Regressing pp specialist, absolutely useless in 5v5 game. Thats what he is and always been.Ya, no.
Bergevin acquired Drouin to lead the charge, which was a straight up mistake.
If the Habs pick up Laine it's to give a dry run to their top6, while the goal isn't to be world beater next season, the team still want more than one decent line
Dach is pretty much an addition that can't be ignored since he missed the whole year.
They didn't really replace monahan though, but the young defense will have an additional year under their belt as well.
Same takes were flying last summer... This one will age about the sameI'm looking at teams like San Jose, Chicago and Anaheim right now, and it's not even out of the question that we actually finish lower in the standings next year than we did this season
Leon DraisaitlNext offseason should be a fun one for us.
-Another high 1st
-FLA 1st could be better than expected with half of their top 4 gone and Reinhart going back to his 30 goal pace
-Petry/Allen/Dvorak/Armia off the books
-Anderson/Gallagher buy outs
-Full year of development for Mailloux/Reinbacher/Hutson and Demidov comes over
-Could see Price contract getting traded since it will be in its final year
All our top prospects will be in the NHL and we will have a shit ton of money to add impact players. I'm going to be judging Hughes based on next year.
add Evans off the books , dude so soft and made of glassNext offseason should be a fun one for us.

Healthy Dach & healthy Dvorak will be a net upgrade at C from opening day last year.
While both have injury concerns, neither are as pronounced as Monahan's were this time last year.
Suzuki - Dach - Dvorak - Evans
If each plays 65+ games, Habs will be middle of the pack at C
Same takes were flying last summer... This one will age about the same
He's gonna play the exact same role Barré-Boulet played for them last season.I really doubt it.
His game would have to undergo a huge transformation.
Jon Cooper expects a lot from his role players.
It’s f***ing 3pm on July 1st. If I’m Copernicus, you’re Christopher Columbus thinking he found India by going West.Aren't you one of those preaching being "patient" with the rebuild and that "at some point, improvement is going to come from within".
If the improvement from within is still nowhere to be found after 4 years, and you need to spend extra money to improve on duds like Dvorak, what does that tell you about the state of this "rebuild", Copernicus?
Well ahead of the teams you listed, no?We finished exactly at the same spot last season as two years ago.
