White!! Portland need to get Kamal on to restore order. How good was that from Laborda?

Chara is on the edge now

 5-0 now. Just zero pushback from Portland as Gauld just owns them.

This could finish 7-0...8-0?

A completely baffling team. How can they look so inept one week, and then dismantle the Timbers 5-0 the next week.

Who knows which team will show up at LAFC on Sunday? Oh well.....at least there's a guarantee of one more home game this season at B.C. Place.

Where did that performance come from?!?! I was watching the game and didn't understand what was happening...I was enjoying watching the Whitecaps. Still not sure that actually happened...

Regarding the home game for the playoffs, just learned that the Burnaby girls under 14 softball team will be selling krispy Kreme donuts at the stadium that day so the Whitecaps can't use the field.

Lol Phil Neville. I completely forgot he moved to the MLS let alone became the Timbers' manager.

Thank God for us he did ;).

Vancouver get this two game playoff started in LA.

Ahmed in on the right, Picault to the bench. Everything else looks the same.

LA starting Giroud up front, Vela on the bench

I have no idea what Blackmon is supposed to do with his arms aside from chopping them off. That was never a penalty...

This joke league continues to give both LA teams the edge. Just no point in watching this garbage.

WHOOOO!!!

I have very little doubt they are not making it out of LA -- even if they play amazingly this is a league that regularly rewrites rules on the fly to publicize big markets, and just dropped everything when the Messi thing began to happen to recenter the whole league around him, so they aren't going to want to see anything else -- but it's pretty awesome the Caps clutched up here and made the season one game longer, at least.

When everyone is healthy, the team can actually look good (although still not as good as mid-last season)... and they have played sparingly little with both Gauld and Armstrong together.

The fact that this game was only available on Apple TV is insane and incredibly foolish for the league.

Gauld doing what he is doing on this team is akin to Mullin for Wrexham when they were in Div 2 or whatever. He is a transcendent talent that consumers in this marketplace should be becoming obsessed over.

Once again this team has a chance to overtake another team (BC Lions in this case) in the hearts and minds of the locals and they shit the bed, the nightstand, the carpet next to the bed, the pathway to the bathroom and a 12ft space around the toilet. They diarrhead an entire apartment...nice work Whitecaps.

Don't know why MLS doesn't make this playoff the same as they do in Europe.....a two game series, where home and away goals often decide the result. If that were the case, the Whitecaps would be moving on after tonight's 3-0 bleaching of LAFC.

Unfortunately they now have to travel back to SoCal for the clincher on Friday. Odds of an upset are still long.

Next weeks game is only on Apple TV as well... That is their choice so I won't be watching or following the score at all. I am on Vancouver Island so I can really only follow televised or streamed games.

The Whitecaps might as well be a team from Europe or whatever if you live outside the lower mainland. Can't follow on TV/Computer and too expensive to travel.

Congratulations to MLS and the Whitecaps for causing me to actively choose to avoid this game even though I traveled to a game in Van and was prepared to offer them more support.
