D’Arnaud signs with another team.
People usually moan about losing Syndergaard, but to me the forgotten loss is TDA. He turned into a pretty damn good catcher.
I wouldn’t say he was any more injury prone than Syndergaard ended up being. His inability to stay on the field makes it hard to regret too much. He had a great year and a half for the Mets and was mostly injured or mediocre the rest of the time.
For me, he was a reasonable price to pay to make that trade. He was a top prospect, but he was a bit redundant (let's not talk about why) so they could afford to give him up. There's no way they should have had to add anything remotely close to Syndergaard's value to make the trade happen.

And while Syndergaard was elite early on, TDA had the opposite career curve and became pretty good later on. He also had some decent years with Atlanta IIRC.
That whole trade wasn’t very good.Syndergaard definitely had his injury issues, but he also threw 150+ innings four times for the Mets. He basically had four full seasons where he was somewhere between very good and elite.
d'Arnaud only reached 400 PA once. Hell, he only got to 300 PA one other time. He had two very good seasons, and one of them he only played 67 games. I also don't think the Atlanta years matter much in terms of the trade since they were beyond the team control years.
d'Arnaud in New York was kind of a poor man's Jansen. That's still a solid player, but I don't have much issue giving it up in a "last piece of the puzzle" type trade.
