Making matters worse, Bo Bichette's performance has also regressed, as the shortstop is hitting just .210 with a .568 OPS so far this year (even on a rest day Monday, Bichette worked out in the team's batting cages alongside his father, former big-leaguer Dante Bichette).
I thought I heard on the radio that Dante Bichette was back around the team working with Bo again but can’t find anything online to confirm…anyone hear this?
Interesting blurb from BNS' latest article. Seems like Dante Bichette is back around the team.
This team is missing a viable 5th starter
-YRod (who also has an reported IP limit for the season of around 100 innings) and Bowden Francis are both guys who either need to piggyback off each other, or with Trevor Richards
-Manoah is cooked
-Tiedemann is hurt
Rosenthal basically says here that if they are still around the .500 mark at the trade deadline they have to seriously consider being sellers this season.
Because isn't Tiedemann going to be out for a while, and YRod/Francis are short term injuries? What’s the point of saying YRod and Francis need to be piggybacked while Tieds is just hurt? They’d all be on innings limits if healthy. Plus once stretched they would’ve been able to go 5+.
Regardless… next man up. Maybe Paxton Schultz? Probably Espino. But it would also be hilarious if Manoah gets the call.
Speaking of which… 4 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 7 Ks so far for Manoah today going toe to toe against Skenes.
I had no idea that Rod Black's son was pro ball player
