Does it matter? Both players were injured. Both players played or playing hurt. Both of their numbers dipped. Was talking about Casas, not Devers.

It's giving me that final game vs the Orioles when we lost out on the final spot many years ago vibes. It feels like we're going to win the last 7 games of the year and probably miss out by a game somehow.
TBQH looking at schedules it's not inconceivable that if someone sweeps the Sox/Rays series this weekend that they could sneak in. Detroit seems pretty safe (they close with the White Sox), but looking at the Royals and Twins, they've got tough series to end the year playing Atlanta and Baltimore. Still, making up 3.5 games with 5 to play is not a likely outcome.
Last place in their division. Lowest payroll in the NL. Do you know how many bobble heads $200K will buy for next season's promotional games??? Pirates continuing to do Pirates things...
Yeah I just want above .500 at this pointAt least we're ending out the year on a good little run. And one more win guarantees we finish in third place in the east. The spoiled teenage me would be appalled by the idea that finishing third is anything to be proud of, but I do think it's meaningful to this young core of players and makes us look better in the hot stove market this winter.

Go Braves
They could win out while the royals lose out and still get sniped by the Mariners.
I'm laughing picturing the scenario in which they win out and unexpectedly grab the last wild card spot, then they suddenly start to panic and go send someone to chase down Raffy and Kenley for a flight to Houston after they'd already packed all their shit for the winter.

Nice to see Vaughn Grissom swinging the bat well.
