For what it's worth, I think there's some value in ownership demonstrating that in a post-Belichick world, they're not going to be reactionary and impatient.
Give Wolff and Mayo another year. Bring in experienced coordinators if you want to shake things up. Give them a chance to grow, and if things don't improve in Year 2, then you move on.
If there were glimmers of hope, or you saw a team that improved as the season progressed even if they lost, I'd agree with you. You'd chalk is up to talent.
But that's not happening. They've somehow regressed, they are making the same dumb mistakes every week. They look unprepared every week. Mayo looks totally lost out there. Has zero coaching instinct. Says idiotic shit on his post game comments, then goes on the radio Monday morning and takes it all back.
His job is to lead. He's not a leader. He's a finger pointer.
The entire operation needed to be reset last year, instead they promoted a bunch of guys already here. It didn't make sense the , and it won't get any better.
I don't think franchises that chew through coaches on a seemingly yearly basis are a model to copy, but in this case it needs to happen.
There isn't a single redeeming quality to Mayo as the head coach of a rebuilding program. I honestly cannot think of a single one.
