Is this the longest final in history? I can't recall one getting two day breaks like this each time.

I mean, this is also the most distant SCF matchup ever. I don't think the extra day off in-between is really all that egregious here.

Yeah the only real fixes are an earlier or shorter regular season (hah). The length of the final series wouldn't be as big of an issue if it wasn't so damn late.

Given the travel time between the two cities I find that the breaks are ok.

They had decided on the extra days off before they knew it would be Edmonton and Florida in the Final.

Calgary-TB finished their 2004 seven game series in two weeks.

Boston-Vancouver (2011), NYR-Vancouver (1994), Edmonton-Carolina (2006) are comparable flight lengths.


This series will only go for 16 days, but feels much longer, for some reason.

I want the Panters to score in OT and get overturned like in our series when Cirelli might have breathed on Bob. Then I want the Oilers to come down the ice, cross-check Tchachuk into Bob then score in the empty net and have it hold up like in the Bruins game. I want maximum pain.
