So long, Mac. Thanks for the win vs. Buffalo back in October - the only game I went to this year. :)

I hope he absolutely crushes it in Jacksonville.

Best of luck to Mac. Shame the way things have gone the past 2 years but a lot of really fun moments with him, especially in his rookie year.

Lots of what ifs... Team didn't put him in a spot to succeed but he didn't exactly handle everything professionally either. Hard to blame either side, just didn't work. Think he can still have a solid career and make a lot of money as a journeyman.

Whatever Mac’s shortcomings as a quarterback, I’ll go to my grave believing that the New England Patriots did him zero favors while he was here.

No question. Perhaps he peaks as a Garoppolo with a better roster and play calling. We will never know.

Either way, Pats lose turning a mid 1st into a late draft pick, as usual.

Pats need a few painful rebuild seasons to do this right.

The stories we can tell our kids and grandkids about this era!!

Seriously though, I wish him well. I don't know how much was really his fault, but I guess we'll see if he can make a decent career for himself now.

Young quarterbacks have their limitations. Perhaps immaturity and a weak arm were Mac's.

Even so, the lion's share of responsibility for his swift descent into "reclamation project" rests with Bill Belichick.

One need only look at his treatment of Brady. (The point has been made, perhaps with merit, that Bill's harsh behavior toward Tom brought T12's immensely competitive nature to a boil, which translated into multiple championships.)

BTW, it must be humbling for arguably the greatest NFL coach ever to field a call from San Francisco about a vacant defensive coordinator gig. At 71 and near the end of his career.

I don't dislike Bill but on occasion, what goes around comes around.

Any word on the return? Low round pick?

And Jacksonville just wants a backup to Lawrence?

Anyway, he almost looked good that rookie year but will go down as one of the biggest busts in franchise history
