For what it's worth, I just listened to a clip from Rich Eisen's show, where he said after talking to folks around the NFL at the combine this weekend, Jayden Daniels is QB2 in this draft.

That's not to say Washington is one of those teams that has Daniels ahead of Maye... just that it seems like most teams have Daniels rated higher.

The screen. It's full of smoke.

Everything people supposedly hear this time of year about the draft are lies. Yet folks believe it all and report it as fact. I get that it's fun to talk about the draft, but it's like groundhog day at this point. People will never learn.

Just curious to see what people think... if you were making the decision for the Patriots, what type of offer would you have to get to convince you to trade the #3 overall pick?

Obviously depends how far. One spot down vs 20 spots down = an entirely different story.

At minimum I am asking for the Trey Lance package, 3 first rounders.

Jefferson and a first isn't enough to me.

Hot take alert:

Russ got released. I'm sure he'll want to have a team lined up before the draft but if it works out that Williams/Maye aren't going to be there at 3, I'd draft MHJ and sign Mr. Unlimited and be very happy.

In that scenario maybe you can scoop a more raw QB in the 2nd round to groom into the future guy.

Best value play might be trading down from 3 to the 4-8 range and hoping you can get Alt or Harrison, while using whatever you picked up additionally in that deal, our 2nd, and Mac to get back into the mid first and pick up Fashanu there. But I don't think this front office is going to want to trade down in their first post-Bill draft for optics, and the whole plan depends on who other teams are valuing and picking. Too many moving parts

Unless they have an extension with Onwenu close, tagging Dugger is the first chance they have had to do something stupid and they have done it. The only reason to tag a solid but not great safety over an elite guard and good tackle is because the franchise tag is cheaper for Dugger and they plan on letting him walk after next season when he'll be 29 before the 2025 season starts, avoiding having to commit money to him long term. Peppers was better last season and Mapu felt like planning ahead knowing the plan was to let Dugger walk.

They didn’t franchise him - big difference

Seems like a precursor to a multi deal

Teams can talk to him he can shop and market determined

I like this player a leader and a tough sob who can play in the box - not great in coverage but brings it

Smart Move - player less likely pissed off

I agree smart move by the Pats to get the Duggar deal done.
He is most definitely worth 13.8 M.
