IMO Avs clearly won both by a good margin right now. Maybe in 2-3 years, Byram hits the ceiling that people think he has... but that shouldn't matter to the Avs. Win now.
He was never going to hit his ceiling with us. I don't think he will with Buffalo either but yeah. That's just two teams with better defencemen in front, and there are not THAT many of them.

Rather the Avs go after a hard-working, checking 4th line centre who's good on draws at this point rather than a Wenneberg type. Who's out there aside from Dowd? I'd love them to build up the 4th line to where it was at during the 2022 run (i.e. a Cogliano type acquisition).
I still want Dowd at 50% tbh... Would solve a need for multiple years.

We're definitely going for more with the 2024 1st and all that cap space. I'm guessing they'll go for a winger, but I honestly really wish they'd sell the farm for Saros...he's the huge weak spot come playoffs, now.

The more modest move is a backup and a good 4th liner. Which would be fine. Keeps the 2024 1st for either more prospect depth (which they seem to like, based on last season) or offseason flexibility.

It's crazy to think they achieved all that they did today without moving any of our prospects, or the 2024 1st. And have more cap space versus where we were 12 hours ago.

We're still easily players for any other player on the market. If they wanted to move Ghoulash, Ritchie, or the 2024 1st.

How much space do they have now? 3.5m? Exactly Kerfoots salary!

Am enjoying that were playing Drouin on the 2nd and 3rd line but on a different wing for each line

I'm just blown away that we actually still have 5mil on cap space here. We went from having none to having some. f***ing use it. Get a goalie, get a #4C, get a depth D.

Balls on the table, well done CMac. I really like the walker deal, getting rid of SloJoe and getting Walker is a tidy piece of business(of course part of it was self-inflicted)

And getting fatty is a good attempt at fixing the 2C, 25 years old, good defensively and can chip in offensively. My main concern there is how much will it take to keep him long term 6.5/7.5?

The biggest plus is we didn't spend assets on Wennberg or something similar. Now a good back up and a 4C and we are looking a lot better, maybe a depth D.
