Guentzel will be a 40-60 +30 guy next year on a line with Point and Kucherov and everyone will wonder how the f*** we could get all three for under 10m.
The key here is obviously the Sergachev trade. First off, Hedman now gets even more offensive zone faceoffs, making him more effective and lightening his load, he could and should play the entire PP like Kucherov does.
McDonagh is an infinitely better defenseman than Sergachev defensively, McDonagh had 28 even strength points with the bulk of his work in the defensive zone last year. Sergachev, in his best year and playing mostly in the offensive zone had 36 even strength points. This is a very big upgrade.
Then there is Moser, who in a vacuum isn't the player Sergachev is but for the minutes both would actually play, is going to provide more value than Sergachev. That's three upgrades on defense.
