So granted it is PV and Madden but at 3OA the Ducks really aren't going to go way off the board with the pick. It would seem that they will pick one of the following:
Demidov
Levshunov
Silayev
Lindstrom

I won't speculate on the likelihood of trading down b/c that hardly ever happens. That said, I don't see them trading the pick outright.
I really think Buium is a possibility. I know he's left handed and not particularly big, but he seems like a defenseman we would target.

I don't think he'd be a pick the Ducks (or maybe anyone else) would make at 3OA. Dickinson would be more of a Ducks pick than Buium IMO. But if Buium measures 6'2" at the combine then maybe...

Chicago fans seem to think they will go forward(Demidov seems like the guy they want).

I think San Jose winning was best case scenario for us, if levshunov is our guy

At LD, the Blackhawks have Vlasic and Korchinski.

Chicago has Seth Jones as their RD1 in the NHL today RD3 Connor Murphy. 2022 Prospect RD Sam Rinzel just finished his rookie season in the NCAA and had a very good debut. Another year or two in college before he comes over.

Jones is will be turning 30 in October. They could use a young, top-end RD in their system. Lev will be staying in college next year, and so will Rinzel. The both could come to the NHL in 2025 and have Seth Jones sheltering them for a season.

With that said, Chicago also needs more offense. They could go with scoring phenom from Russia in Demidov or they could go big center in Lindstrom.

Also, Chicago does have another 1st round pick (Tampa's) and three 2nd round picks. They can find RD's later on. RD Badinka is risen to the bottom of the 1st round, passing up shutdown RD Elick.

Man... I just hope Chicago drafts a forward.

I think that was because it was the Sharks party mislabeled as Anaheim. Those jerseys all looked teal to me. And you're right, they were celebrating like somebody who just won.

Great eye! I read Anaheim and Bucci saying Anaheim. Our OG colors looks like the Sharks' colors. I just was upset we didn't win #1 or #2 and didn't pay close enough attn.

If that was Bucci, I think he even hesitated ever so slightly when he said Anaheim. I think he realized something wasn't adding up but he was live and just went with it. LoL!

I don't think Demidov is a slam dunk for Chicago given both he and Bedard are under 6'. Chicago will probably take a strong look at Silayev, Levshunov, and Lindstrom as well....all players with talent and size.

I kinda waited to watch prospect videos until I knew where we’d end up, but since the lottery earlier I’ve watched a handful. I’m liking Lindstrom at forward if they don’t think his back will be an issue. Imagine having Carlsson, Mac, Cutter, Lindstrom as 4 of your top 6. Those are big bodies, and if Verbeek really wants to play that style like it seems, he’d be a solid pick. I also like what Demidov brings, wouldn’t be upset at that pick.

I’m shit at evaluating defensive prospects though, but I liked Buium in the NCAA tournament. I’ll have to watch videos of Lev, Dickinson and Silayev to form an opinion if we go D.

We’re in a spot to get Celebrini/Demidov/Levshunov so I don’t really care about the results of this lottery. My concern was always (and still is) moreso that we’d take a guy I wasn’t high on than our actual placement in the draft

Trade up / trade down are definitly an option. The value isnt that far from 3 to 13. Somewhere I think Ducks like NTDP players and Buium is a target. I just think its just an horrible year to draft 3rd when quality is so close. I think its the best year for a trade down. You can have Buium at , you can even have him at 9 and makes the Flames geting insane on Iggy.

Well there’s always Gavin McKenna since we are lottery bound likely now for another two years….

So who is the Blackhawks target at #2? I was pretty sure it would be Lindstrom as he would meet their DEI requirements (sarcasm) and bring a big forward who can either center the 2nd line or play with Bedard, but he missed a ton of time from injuries and didn’t look great during his return. Demidov would bring needed offense but he would be another small star player, and I’m assuming they would want other attributes. But he might be the guy since the available defenders all have some questions (Silayev and Dickinson have questionable offensive upside, Leshunov and Yakemchuk have questionable defense, Parekh has questionable size, and Buium has questionable upside). I think teams normally lean forward with the higher picks as they are easier to project.

I’m guessing we end up swinging for Lindstrom, but if they go a bit off board I hope they trade down a few slots to maybe use it to move up from our other 1st rounder. Maybe 2 late firsts can get us in a the top 15 to pick a guy we have ranked in the top 10?

The problem with trading down that far with a specific player in mind is that he may go right before you pick. If the Ducks trade down that far it's b/c they really don't have anyone that they are targeting.

Trading down isn’t happening.
